Are better times ahead for crypto?

You must've seen the flash crash that happened at midnight and continued till today, while I think it's actually not unpredicted, I think this is probably a reminder to people who are feeling comfortable at the present price, or even having the illusion that the market may have bottomed.

I think the market pretty much does this, and that's the painful reality check we've seen with crypto so far, over the years, we've seen this reality hit, over and over again. The market can be humbling, as much as crypto is life-changing and all that, it can actually destroy lives as well.

While this is a bold thing to say, I can remember this particular crypto influencer who lost all his life savings to a meme coin, and reportedly took his life afterwards.

While crypto is not meme, meme is also part of this industry and we've seen people who became rich off of meme coins. A lot of people have seen the negative side of the market and honestly the times we've seen mad pumps didn't even last for a long time.

while I think that good times in life generate doesn't last so long, sometimes I think with crypto, you're always one decision away from becoming completely broke or change your life. With most people I've seen it's always their lives changing negatively and this isn't to undermine the success stories we've seen over the years.

Rant & dump

Forgive my rants, I was just trying to say that no one can be comfortable at a certain price point, and even if you're 95% down from a previous ATH, there's no reason why you cannot do another 50% dump from that -95% and that's the cruel nature of the market.

It doesn't mean it won't get better, it only means that it can get become the worst, even though it's already bad, that's crypto, no sentiment, no emotion, and it's taken me 9 years to learn this. Sometimes it begs the question, did we top? Are we now attaining diminishing returns and we don't know it, or this is still the earliest phase of crypto even though it's been over 17 years now?

Well I won't pretend to have the answers. Someone actually commented on one of my posts and talked about AI topping and make the hype dies as well.

I cannot say, but here's something I know. We're currently in the hottest phases of AI and perhaps in 10 years time it'll top, and maybe no one would care anymore, but I really don't think this is the case, because AI and crypto is pretty much very different. But, the same thing that has also happened to crypto can happen to AI too..

from saturation to lack of relevance and many other things. Maybe the government might decide to start controlling it's usage and all that, but it'll probably never get the fear factor that crypto had in the earliest stages.

The legit comparison

My reason for this comparison is still the question about the realistic situation of the market, and my stand still remains the same: the market has not bottomed and we still have another 15 to 20% dump from 65k.

My predicted timeframe is Q4 2026 and the dump will not be a flash dump, just some slower dump that'll probably not be visible enough to cause pain. Well, a lot of people are already numb anyway and any dump from this price point may not e dn bother them anymore..

this is why I think the market is spent, and a lot of people aren't really wasting much emotions anymore and that's why the pump of mid to late 2028 might just be legendary because no one is expecting it.

Again, just my assumption and deductions. If you're already buying at this current price. I don't think you'll make a lot of mistakes, because at worst, you see a -15% dump from your current position but still make money when the market is better. Expect these dumps, hopefully they're signs that better times are ahead .

It’s wild isn’t it?!

With the upheaval in the world financial situation because of an accelerated grift and transfer of wealth, I can understand why investors and speculators are fatigued. Anyone looking to buy in and net a huge return of a lottery ticket don’t get too much sympathy from me.

You do habs w to buy when everyone else is selling and sell when everyone is buying to profit off the swings. Almost impossible to know if the selling is done or about to become even bigger.

I habs e stopped swapping a while ago and working on other investments with my meagre stake being what it is. I agree now is a good entry point for people with fiat to gamble but something big has to change for the big return. I can’t imagine anything big happening now to be positive so I am staying put

Yes, it's quite understandable if you choose to stop swapping, I said it anyway..... It isn't the right time to actually buy because the market has not bottomed, but then when it does, I honestly would advise anyone to overlook the current frailties of the market and invest for 2028.
Also, for the "selling and buying" situation, I think it's just normal that people would sell more in a bear market, I just think it's the fear and euphoria of the market. It's ironic, but that's just the case.

Hopefully we get better market situations

Indeed.

The most consistent pattern I have seen since getting into crypto is that if goes /, then it goes . Then it goes / again!

In my opinion, no movement in cryptocurrency occurs without prior calculation.
As small players, we aren't privy to what will happen in the next five, seven, or sixty minutes; conversely, the major players—known as "whales"—often have advance knowledge of upcoming trends because they are the ones driving the market. We saw this with the "Trump" meme coin, for instance: a single individual made billions of dollars. Whereas small-scale traders like myself invested $100 or $200 only to see our capital wiped out. It is in this sense that cryptocurrency can be described as unpredictable.

If the "big whales" were to conduct their trades without telling anyone, the outcome would be unpredictable; however, if they announced their purchases beforehand, it would no longer be unpredictable—it would simply be a matter of prediction.
For instance, if I were to buy $100 worth of an asset and make a lot of noise about it, it would trigger some market movement. Similarly, if the big whales were to do the same—announcing their buys to the public—it would create an unexpected market situation.

I don't believe that it's only whales that moves the market, although it can be true, just not all the time. I think the sentiment we currently have stems from not having a proper bull run, and the one which is popular with every bear market, which is people just being uninterested

The market seems to lag a long time in dumping mode than in pump mode.
In other scenario the market tends to remain flat in between.
I hope we reach the bottom. It may be stagnant for a while before 2028.
It is a long time from now.
Who could have thought we are in a bear market in 2026?
This is the power of quasi-decentralization.

Exactly, the market spends more time dumping which tends to remind us that crypto is an industry that you might end up being on the losing side a lot of times, if you don't make credible decisions. It's really sad, but that's what it is.

Personally 2026 was originally supposed to be a dump year, but since 2025 never ended in euphoria, it makes it really strange. Hopefully the market is spent and this coming pump cycle will reward everyone for their time, money and resilience

I think it was bound to happen at some point because they would want to push out people before going back up. Then again, the market has been full of AI lately, and the predicted money from it doesn't seem to be as much as people expected. Maybe money will rotate a bit back into crypto.

Yeah, money should rotated back into crypto but we might just need to see a price that's positive before people begin to jump in again, I just think that's how the situation is, and how it has always been

I don't worry too much about flash crashes. These usually result from somebody dumping a large position and the market recovers quickly. When things are bad is when there is a large dump and price does not recover.

Once things start turning around, people who have stayed away will start jumping in again, driving the price up.

My timeframe is a bit shorter. We have Uptober coming up.

Uptober? Well I don't exactly know if there will be a "big uptober", since I personally predicted that that is when the market might be looking to bottom, but I could be wrong.

Like you, I also don't care about market dumps and flash crash, because we're literally in the moment when it's supposed to happen

that might probably be it, the way Ai is ravaging everywhere was hiw crypto topped the chart untill governments actually wanted controlling the entity.

it's really a sad one for crypto this period, i guess we've all learned from our mistakes, your predictions might be correct who can tell

Well, I have learned the hard way that crypto is actually no one's friend, if you don't take advantage of the market then that's it. I think the market will begin its recovery soon
