How To Become Severely Unlucky.

11th of September will make it my 7th year on the chain. One thing I've learned so far is that you should always be hopeful when are losing your mind. Always project the exact opposite of what others are, even if the facts are staring you in the face. In my early days on steem, the coin was not doing badly on coinmarket cap In fact, it was doing pretty well, but nowadays hive is sitting about 300 plus below, and projects that do not even have half the depth of Hive are sitting in unbelievable spots.

Does this mean the Steem that was doing well back then on coinmarket is better than the Hive we have now? I'll leave you to answer that. One thing I've come to discover is that the people who love Hive the most are its biggest critics, why? Because they feel we can do better. Everyone has a version of what they think is best for Hive, but then, we cannot all get what we want for Hive because of the diversity in the voice of our decentralization.

Hive's biggest advantage is probably one of the reasons why we've not gotten to that pinnacle we all want, however, the grass is not always greener on the other side, and this is what many people do not know. We cannot reject what we have in search of what we think is better. A lot of people are always waxing lyrical "Oh can you believe Hex has this and has that......." They forget that these guys project marketing overall the real thing.

Nobody will ever market their undoing, rather they'll tell you what you want to want to hear. Of course, we want to be somewhere decent, but we are not at the bottom of the pack. I keep saying we cannot reject what we have, no matter how bad we think it is. For example, I've gone through a rough patch in the last six months, I've made terrible decisions, and I've hated myself for not doing the things I should have done.

I'm my biggest critic, and even when my criticism involves judging myself constantly, I'm doing this because I love me, and not necessarily because I truly hate myself. Illnesses complications and weakness, I still feel like I've accomplished a lot, and even when I mostly wish I could be another person, just to avoid the pain and troubles of being me, I'm mostly projecting these feelings because I wish I can be a better version of what I am.

So, most of the people who talk a lot about Hive's imperfections are mostly just doing so from a place of love, care, and concern. In a crypto sphere where projects are paying tons of top dollars to market the hell out of their thing, they mostly feel like we can do more than these people since we even have better products. We cannot have another Hive, and one of the best ways to be severely unlucky is underestimating how far we can, rather than keeping to hive goals, splinterlands goals, HE token goals, and other necessary diversifications.

Hive will do its thing.

Most of what we want to be done for Hive, some of the witnesses already deliberated on them a hundred times, and something must be holding them back. Since Hive is stake-based, the witnesses are keenly voted for, by people who themselves do what's best for Hive. I'm not saying the system is perfect, but it is solid to an extent. We cannot always like the way some systems are.

About a year ago, I got into a downvote war, and a dandy whale used a community account to downvote my account for over 6 months with endless rampage. It's the system. I didn't blame Hive at all, I feel that the ecosystem is a shade of thousands of human personalities and we cannot all like each other for reasons best known to us.

So, the downvote is just a tool and not a representation of the chain. All in all, the bull market will take a different turn, and things will happen. Prepare for whatever you can in the best possible ways, severe tantrums and "trial-and-error" investments will only make you lose out, Hive is down not out, you're going through a rough patch, it's not checkmate.

Definitely not perfect, but hopefully we shall see some progress in the price department. Wow! You joined on Sept. 11, here in the US that's still kind of a haunting memory and how I ended up in the Army.

Yes, Sept 11. You've been in the Army and also became a doctor too? Wow. September seem to always be haunting or memorable for me too. I was also born in September

I became a doctor before I joined the Army. Started as an officer which was nice, but since we were in wars for twenty years I ended up seeing much more combat than I would have liked.

Seeing combat can be really hard on the body and mind, if you remained am officer without the war, you might have still been in the army.

I am not a prolific user in terms of posts on Hive, but I can safely say that, of all the blogging platforms I have known, Hive is the one that has presented itself best to me.

Here, several years ago now, I made friends and met people with whom I was able to have enriching conversations about blockchain, cryptocurrencies and other related topics. In fact, Hive was my gateway to the world of cryptocurrencies.

In my early days, I was more of a socializer than a creator: I was actively participating in Hive-related Discord groups, but I wasn't so focused on writing or investing. However, recently I have been motivated to resume my activity on the platform, and now I try to maintain a steady pace of publications and interact with other users.

Despite the criticism it sometimes receives, Hive remains a vibrant and active community. I am encouraged to see that, after so many years, the platform continues to exist and evolve.

When you take a break off hive it sometimes become hard to get back. Plus hive is a lot too. Not everyone will find it usual, as it takes more individuality. It's why I don't onboard, unless the person is an online guy, even people like that still finds it difficult.
But if you're more of a social person, overtime you might just find the capacity to create, although creating too can be difficult.

That same downvote matter happened to me from the same person
Omo but I’m glad it has been resolved
He said the reason was that he wanted to confirm if I’m a robot or not

That!

Hive, like life ( and our health ) is a long term investment.
And yeah, we tend to criticize that and those we love the most.

True, we criticize what we love, sometimes it comes out very harsh, but it's what it is. Thank you for the kind words

Those are the downsides of decentralisation, no central authorities that can take up and implement all those wonderful ideas. But I'm hopeful hive has a bright future and those improvements will come with time. By the way, I wonder what HEX is, you mentioned in a line in your post. Is that like a hive alternative? Thanks for writing and have a wonderful day.

Hex is not a hive alternative, it's more like a project where you stake your holding for a long time and hope for juicy returns. They market it all the time on Twitter

Hive isn't perfect but I do think it's the best thing out there right now. Compared to the other social media sites, I think hive is miles ahead but that also means that it isn't attractive to those large whales out in the crypto space. I still think Hive will succeed in the long run though.

Yes I agree with you, Hive is far from perfect but the system is okay and is susceptible to improve. Well, I think we might eventually get the right form of marketing, even if it's taking more time than we think

I guess the bear market puts many people on the edge, making them think that the good times are long gone and bad times are here to stay. I think being hopeful while also understanding every phase or stage will pass is a great way to keep the momentum of moving forward without being stopped by fluctuations or market noise.

It's pre-bull market, but months to the bull market often feels like a bear market. I think we people who knows the market will shake off these feelings.

Yes, indeed. They're temporary and shouldn't prevent us from focusing on the big picture.
