Jobs are not the only thing that AI is taking.

I've been heavily using AI in the last few days and honestly I've tested some of the best models in the game. The best ones so far has been GPT and CLAUDE and secondly I'd like to say, AI is great in 2026.
I think people started fully started using AIs in 2023, and in 3 years time the results have been unbelievably good, and I say unbelievably good because it's not been more than 5 years that people started training AI models, and these models can do so much that you cannot even imagine.
Some days back I was using a model to do some heavy duty tasks and I discovered that what the capabilities of these AIs are seriously so good that some apps that people used to help their daily workflow are now going to become useless. People think it's about jobs alone, it's actually not.
App, protocols, systems, patterns every patent or systems put in place that people already use is now in danger of being replaced by AI. For example I'm an avid user of canva and I honestly love the app a lot. I used it to design a lot of my images, the elements and everything used to be very nice. I'm sure a lot of us here used canva.
It was the go-to app for every budding designer who was a creator and a decent one at that. However a lot of AI now do better than canva, you just need to feed them the correct prompt and then you're good to go.
Canva on the other hand has actually added a subscription based model where you get to access the pro features if you want. In reality they've actually taken away over 80% of the features that people could actually access and didn't improve the app in that short timeframe.
They have an AI magic system that lets their users access some certain level of AI to their workflow, but I think this isn't good enough considering that AI can already do 90% of what the app can do.
I would think the developers of the app are somewhere now wondering when no one will ever use their app, and since they understand this, they're still not doing enough to better the app. Although not everyone will have the cash to use the likes of GPT or Claude especially if they're just a minor graphics designer who wants to design a couple of stuffs for some marketing firms.
Also not everyone loves automation and there are a lot of people who still don't have enough money to afford automation. Inasmuch as we think automated is taking jobs, we also have understand that it's currently not cheap and not everyone can access it. I think the peak of AI functionality is yet to come.
AI can do a lot, but it's still not in its full potential yet and when it finally gets there, maybe in 10 to 20 year time, I think it's going to be expensive and exclusive, especially some of the extreme capabilities.
In this regard I think the likes of canva will stay. It's kind of surprising that we think about AI taking jobs and we don't even put in mind the other things that would go obsolete, one of them are systems that relies heavily on manual usage and this includes apps, systems and other stuffs.
I don't think this is bad, I just think systems that were used to charging people fees without providing value may go extinct because trust me, even rich people are looking for cheaper options even though they can afford the ones that are very expensive.
The battle of value
I think canva is quite cheap if you're paying for monthly subscriptions, I just think the services it offers is still not good enough for the value they provide even though the cost is money to pay for it is quite negligible.
This is what they actually enjoy. There are things that people can currently pay for that is very cheap and because the cost of these things are negligible, the people who owns these things do not even know that they're not giving enough value.
I still think the current models of AIs are expensive, the likes of Grok is currently unaffordable and they're currently enjoying this because he Chinese models are currently still in development and not as perfect or popular. In the next few years we will know whether AI will be cheaper, more expensive or if the likes of canva will be out of business, only time will tell.
Everyone gets greedy when they know they're going to die.

quote — Artificial intelligence is not just threatening human employment but is actively making our traditional software tools completely obsolete. We must look beyond job loss.
Why it matters: Through this article, one will understand that there is a potential danger from AI, which is not only present in software but also in jobs which people can perform. Consequently, one will understand that conventional software such as Canva cannot provide enough value compared to other more advanced software for automation. Readers will learn how expensive monthly subscriptions lead to the extinction of these systems due to more efficient solutions.
