Politics in crypto: real or fake?

For the past 12 months over 500 people have been kidnapped in Nigeria, a few has been murdered and kidnappers have netted in billions in dollars for ransom fees.

So this basically means that more people are now becoming kidnappers since it's ridiculously the highest paying gig recorded video in history. Now I know the next question would be "why isn't the government ending this terrorism?"

yes, I asked the same thing too, and it turns out that they're politicizing the situation. I also know that you might say "oh every politicians are the same" but this isn't true.

So apparently in 2023, a particular person bribed his way into power, and in three years has stolen hundreds in billions of dollars of state resources for himself and continues to give some of that money to people that ensures he remains in power.

So yes, the judiciary is dead, legislature too, all controlled by one man, and so, the man didn't see the need to work or do anything. I know the next question is "since he already has access to all the state resources, why can't he just be human before politician?" Yes, he has the capacity to be, but that's where the tile of this post comes into play.

Apparently he has a history of terrorism, drugs and a lot of criminal tendencies too, and some of this shady past and criminal records are in records and held by the people who are sponsoring this criminality.

So yes, he has the police and military to wipe out each and every terrorist group and organizations, but he won't because they have his records of criminality and he won't let them come to out, because them it jeopardizes his chances of becoming the president for second terms and also and then opening the eyes of the blind people who are supporting him.

Is this similar to what we have in crypto?

Absolutely not. My point is that politics is a horrible game, and in places where power, status and money is involved, politics is always inevitable. In the past 12 months I've seen politics play out in different chains, it's so dirty, rascally and evil and because of that, it has ruined chains, people and projects.

Is this same politics present on Hive?

Crypto, not just Hive

Yes. Reason is, almost everyone knows the problem of Hive, it's obvious and apparent. It's clear to see even by all. Infact some made a proposal to address this, but was immediately shut down.

So why are the people given the governance positions not doing anything to address it? It's simple: blockchain politics.

The excuses has always been. "If we do this, this will happen, or that will happen, we can't risk it" or something similar, but then you begin to wonder if it's because they truly want to enact the necessary changes or it might just cause something that indirectly affect them. It's a format.

I believe that if these guys stops politicizing these issues, a lot could happen: more people will believe in the chain, more people will be confident, a lot more people will see a reason to stay. Good decision won't automatically improve price in a week or a month, all it would do is restore good vibes which you need to keep a place functioning while the market is down.

In reality, politics is why some of them are sitting their hands down, also because their witness positions are not moving, and this means there are no competition over who replaces who. You can tell that a lot of people loves this blockchain, many cannot just wait for things to improve or get better.

Hmm, you are right and I agree with you in a great deal too. Life is too short and I don’t know why people always make it difficult. The saying that politics is dirty is truth. No one ever involve in politics and doesn’t get their hand dirty. It isn’t possible whether directly or indirectly. And for our country, our president past is horrible and is he not supposed to be in power when he knows that he has that kind of horrible past but most of them get into power to cover their atrocities and use it as a cover for the henious crime. And it is a shame that it is it easy for someone who doesn’t have a godfather to become a leader in a country like ours. Politic is everywhere. They say hive is decentralised but few people who has the highest stake still hold the key that open all door to affair of the chain. I see the reason why people are ready to do anything just to get hold of enough money. No one is a saint, everyone only does what benefits them. I have seen it almost everywhere, that is just the life we find ourselves.

I think complete or pure decentralization is almost impossible to achieve and yeah, we can see this on Hive. Even folks with governance rights will treat the right like a privilege or some sort of authority, rather than a right to governance according to what people on the blockchain wants.
If people who are put in charge don't see themselves as servants or folks who are delegated the right to lead, it'll be definitely difficult for things like decentralization to truly work. This is a major problem when true decentralization is being attempted

I totally get what you're saying and you hit the nail on the head about how human greed ruins everything. It is so frustrating to see the same corrupt political games from the real world happening in crypto especially when people in power stall progress just to protect their own pockets.

The community clearly sees the problems and has the solutions but the top witnesses are too comfortable and scared of change to actually fix anything. If these leaders finally stopped playing mind games and put the community first it would bring back the good vibes and trust we desperately need right now.

I don't think they're scared, they're probably not as concerned and have their reasons for not escalating things for the better, perhaps it's the fact that when corruption benefits people they don't want it to stop

So long as City boy remains the president of this country, terrorism, banditary and all nefarious activities will have no end.

Well it's sad honestly. The biggest pain for me is how some people are still supporting them because of party affiliations and financial gains, just look at obi Cubana for example

Financial gain is the goal for them so they don't care whether the country is bleeding or burning.

I agree, politics is dirty everywhere. Especially there in Nigeria right now. When the corrupt take power they never want to leave. What a shame because it hurts the people...

Hive politics really have driven the price down, and still no one is taking control of the the DHF problems. Someone with enough clout will have to make a stand for things to change, and the price will take a very long time to improve even with appropriate changes. It's sad to watch such a great project suffering so much...

Someone was speaking out loud a few days ago. I read a proposal they made, I even supported the proposal idea, including other people like Elmerin supported the proposal, but the saddest thing is that this person is currently being made to eat his words or made to feel like he's an idiot for writing up such a proposal by blocktrad€s. I really don't care if we're all not geeks or Devs, I think most of the people here loves the chain and simply wants the infrastructure and economics to be better, and it's sad that this situation is being politicized.

I think politics will exist everywhere to an extent because there are a ton of people who want to get benefits/advantages. It sucks to see where things have gone on Hive due to the DHF, but they don't care so long as they are still getting paid out.

Yeah. To some, I think they just want to get paid, irrespective of what the chain crashes or not, they just want the cash and that's all it is for them actually.
