Reflecting On 2021: The Man Behind The Persona.

Money: The First Reflection

Reflections are something I do, to keep me abreast of reality and the current position I might find myself, 2022 is hours away, and sometimes we find ourselves asking questions "did I hit my target"? When it feels like we didn't, we often bask at that moment of nonachievement thinking of how it can be better.

This has always become a cyclical process, a series of similar feeling, influencing our prospective action. Whenever the year is actually coming to an end, people revamp their plans, reshuffle it, and they mostly do this from the angle of the places they actually think they have failed.

However, this isn't bad, sometimes the feeling of correcting the mistakes of the year one's about to leave, narrows down how far their explorations can actually take them. For example, some are never satisfied with how much money they've made in a year, the fact that they feel they could earn, makes them think they can even earn more money than they have, creating a feeling of dissatifaction

They try to tweak a few things, maybe try new skills, while this is good, the essence of reflecting for me, personally is basking in my accomplishments irrespective of whether how small they are. My growth in 2021 has been astronomical, I like the fact that I moved from the "survival-esque" type of guy, to establishing some kind of permanence, both in how I make decisions and how I take risk.

It's been a blessing to know people like @joetunex and @whatamidoing. For Joe, I learned the socio-economic aspect of life, where decision-making could of course influence how far a person can go in life. His life for me became a lesson, I subconsciously learned about moving out of Nigeria and how the excitement of finally leaving a crumbling economic state as Nigeria can be dampened by over expectations.

Knowing him has taught me that my aim to leave Nigeria shouldn't be blinded by the fact that other countries have real world issues that needs for the opportunity cost to be totally weighed.

The Invaluable Non-monetry Aspect

Let's not take away the sociocultural aspect, the kindred spirit of meeting and knowing another goal-getter as myself has been great, of course I wouldn't omit the fact that he inspired, took time and showed me the ropes through splinterlands and even if it's totally been an experimental process for me.

I love the exposure to further prospects of streams of income, the future is uncertain, but mostly, we usually agree that it's probably uncertain in a positively promising way. I usually don't set goals for any new years, some unfortunate incidents have happened in my hive experience lately, and I've found myself meandering from the goal-setter I was, to a more plausible person.

I have found out that being emotional about crypto can blind a person from seeing the bigger picture. This is something I learned from @whatamidoing, he's probably opened my eyes to the fact that, the social experience of a community; a blockchain like hive, could forestall sustenance.

It's been a rocky year, especially when I realize that, I could have lost my life to the stress and chase and the grind for some mindless real-time prospect, called a degree. I've always found myself drifting away from objectivity, but I'm glad to learn that it's difficult to fly without breaking wind, encountering difficulties and problematic situation.

Many people know the name; @Josediccus, but they don't know the man, behind the name, it's crazy and exciting at the same time. @selfhelp4trolls is someone that has been there, on and off the chain, I may have not deserved all the attention, but I could say he experienced the epic moments with me and it has been a blessing in disguise.

I like to say, people are part of accomplishments, inasmuch as we extol money, more crypto bags, more holidays, more NFTs and all, people are a major accomplishment because sometimes, they're the life-changing exposure we actually need to become even better people.

All Round Harmony

That said, I'm satisfied with 2021, I won't say I hit or didn't hit my targets, it's beyond the targets and milestones for me going into 2022, it's more about seeking off chain sustainability for me, the balance and all. This has come as a result of my reflections, weigh the opportunity costs and rebalancing my scale of preference likewise, I'm happy to keep my life as well, despite undergoing arguably the worst period of my life.

Off the chain, it was horrible, but on-chain, I show up every day, do what I love doing and became a different person entirely. That said, I've come to learn a lot about hive, I mean..... Haven't we all? It's not all roses and velvet, it's been a marathon of excitement of "highs and lows". At the end of the day, the year has blissfully come to an end, and by far, i'm grateful for the little "wins", the people and the change. That said, I'm looking forward to Ragnarock

It's very important to go back to the board and check for progress reports only then will you know the amount of seriousness you need to apply.

That said, I'm satisfied with 2021, I won't say I hit or didn't hit my targets, it's beyond the targets and milestones for me going into 2022,

as they always say, once there is life, there is hope.

Happy new year boss

Yeah, I basically think that we have to subconsciously do our report by ourselves, not because we're not satisfied but because we need to tell ourselves where we need to be better better.

My boss, happy new year too. Thanks chief.

Many people know the name; @Josediccus, but they don't know the man, behind the name, it's crazy and exciting at the same time

This is really deep, what I can day about this is that the man behind this unique username is a wonderful man who has been through so much pain and hardship to survive, irrespective of that he still create time to make contents that are worth reading. The man behind my success on Hive and generally on crypto, his advice, support and encouragement has helped me build my stake on this platform.

Sorry I've not been active for a while, I was not feeling fine and I've been receiving treatment at home (a private nurse), but I'm good and okay now

It's good to be back 😊, hope you are good sir?

I haven't replied to your text too, I've finally come back home and there's been too much on my plate lately, I hope you won't vex. It's the situation that seems overwhelming. But definitely it will be different from tomorrow.
How is your body now? I didn't really know about your illness, but I just saw your text now, I'll reply that. Do take care of yourself though.

Well in my sentiment, just like the year is coming to an end, one has to flashback to check if they are attaining their level of expectations.

Well to some they are able to meet up with the tally while some could not, but this doesn't make them see themselves as a failure, sometimes things does not work out as planned, but be thankful to the one we've achieved while hoping for a better year to come.

You're able to achieve somethings during the course of the year despite the challenges and others. There's nothing Worth more than life.
Meeting with people who are always there during this moments is a thing we also be appreciative for .

Many people know the name; @Josediccus, but they don't know the man, behind the name, it's crazy and exciting at the same time.

I could see the @josediccus , the real man behind the mask ☺️☺️

Thanks for the mentioned brother, I feel honored. You probably don't notice and I don't think I ever mention it to you but getting to know you on a personal level this year has been awesome experience, conversations with you have always been of positivity. Most of the time I learn a thing or two from you.

You are just one smart ass on the chain!

I like to say, people are part of accomplishments

More reason I always value people relationship and that is what Hive has given us, we keep meeting, relating and learning from one another by the day.

Isn't that priceless?
Happy New Year!

I learnt even more from you, because it was in the course of talking to you that migration wasn't child's play, I could remember I was all pumped up to actually leave Nigeria. But then I realised that one needs to actually plan and also consider a lot of external factors which you put to me. Plus,. I'm into Splinterlands totally because of you, I took that sept to actually learn and you took that time to put me through. Qudos brotherly

Happy new year man, cheers to 2022 a year of gaming

I truly don't know the man behind the name. But I do look forward to it.

Focusing on the wins is a great way of showing gratitude and therefore multiplying the altitude with which they flow to you.

Well...I would say I achieved my goals at least this year but I think you did quite well over the past year. I can definitely say you were extremely consistent and we should probably just ignore price. Like taskmaster said, just put your head down and get to work.

Yeah, I guess I was actually consistent but I don't look at the goals achieved because then I would have to look at where I didn't really do well, I Just move ahead and plan for the next year. Thanks for your comment

I certainly have learnt to be grateful for the wins no matter how small they are. Atleast they were wins in the first instance. sometimes I don't think we can ever be satisfied with the amount of money we make. The more we attain our targets, the more we set bigger targets, it's an unending cycle.

I noticed you talked about growth both financially and socially and each one had one or two persons who had contributed to this growth or had made it possible one way or the other in terms of mentoring or friendship. With this, man cannot be an island, there's always something in relationships, they help to make us or break us and being on hive has taught me a lot, there's still a lot I have to learn but I'm glad this year brought Hive with it.

Finding the right set of people to push you, inspire you when you feel down cannot be overemphasized. I don't know the man behind the name Jossedicus but I know that there's not just one man behind that name, they're a lot of connecting strings that make that name come Alive...

Thank you for sharing your reflections with us bro ❤️

Yeah, like you too, I like to be grateful. Wins are wins and appreciating them makes us actually value our efforts overtime. Valuing our efforts actually reminds us of how well we've done and come.
As per Social interaction, we have to actually understand that it's a blockchain and it's social aspect is what brings people growth and traction especially if they're not bringing in resources by default. We cannot overstate it.

As per me, sometimes the name aggrandizes the entity.

True, when we remember how well we've done it gives us that strength to go the extra mile to achieve bigger goals. The cycle continues untill we realize that our growth becomes constant. We don't have to work as hard as we used to, the journey just becomes a smooth ride where you just need to stop for fuel once in a while.

As per Social interaction, we have to actually understand that it's a blockchain and it's social aspect is what brings people growth and traction especially if they're not bringing in resources by default. We cannot overstate it.

Yeah I've seen it work overtime here on Hive. It's the little connection you create that brings about big returns for you. Sometimes the result might not be instantaneous. But then in the long run we notice how much that relationship pays off and when it's bringing in resources, there's a lot of joy.

As per me, sometimes the name aggrandizes the entity.

Bros, abeg I'll have to Google the word aggrandizes first because the Grammar is bigger than me.

Glad I got a reply and I'm sorry I took too long to reply ..
Thank you ❤️

It's a good to thing to reflect and make account for the year. Bad or good, there is always something to learn. Yes, on chain, you've been consistent.

I look forward to Ragnarok too.

Survival triggers me. Sometimes I worry too much.
I really love that we should reflect on our year, infact, that's our topic this weekend in the #hivenaija engagement, I took it from your post.. Learning from other people's year is interesting. Not many have had a good one off chain. You won't know, if they don't talk about it

I threw away more than $5000 I made from leverage trading for her Bills and to gambling. Alot of things happened o. I'm just Grateful, I can type it with a smile on my face.
