Reviewing Character Wednesday Addams In The TV series Wednesday.

One of the times I've ever had to gush at the individual brilliance of a character in any TV series was watching Aidan Gallagher of the Umbrella Academy, Tom Ellis as Lucifer in Lucifer and most recent times was watching Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in Wednesday. (This isn't a review of the entire show, but an introspection or an in-depth analysis of the lead character)

First of all, when I saw the thriller for Wednesday on Netflix geeked, I thought the series was going to be like Harry Potter, all things magic, but it wasn't. The writer managed to tell a thrilling story with a simple plot that was edified by the brilliance of the individual actors.

I'm not really a fan of teenage series, because I do not really find teenage stories because of the simplicity of the excessive banter. However, Wednesday is probably the best teenage TV series you'll ever see. I think the main reason is because of the eponymous character, Wednesday who was played by Jenna Ortega.

Her character Wednesday Addams a gothic 15 years old girl, who is different from any modern-day social construct. She has psychic abilities and can see past and futuristic events. This isn't even what makes her interesting, she is a girl that is deemed to be a villain on the surface because of her relentless urge to achieve her aim irrespective of whoever she uses to achieve this.

But she's selfless, her actions are mostly for the greater good even if she might ruffle some feathers in her bid to do so. on the surface she's dogged in her resolve, her ability to see beyond the ordinary, not minding if she fit into normalcy. Let's not forget that she's multi-talented, she could play the violin effortlessly, and her karate skills, fencing, and even dancing and this is what mostly endeared her to her principal and classmates.

She's that character you can't just hate, this metamorphosized from the viewers' point of view to her classmates. You could barely notice the wiles of a teenager in her and this is probably because of the upbringing she had from her parent. She's a delinquent, one who couldn't fit into a normal school and her parents had to pull a lot of strings to get her out of trouble.

Being a supernatural kid, her parents had to take her to their alma mater, Nevermore Academy, a school for supernatural kids with the hopes that she could finally settle where she belonged. Her signature look is antique, I had to give credit to the makeup artists for transforming Jenna Ortega into that pigtail, a harmless-looking teenager who had a penchant for black.

Her character morphed into her persona, transforming her into this dazzling beauty. Firstly, I think Jenna is beautiful but Wednesday is the purest definition of beauty. I wouldn't lie, the way Jenna effortlessly became Wednesday Addams, took away the shine from her co-stars.

Make no mistakes, her co-stars were some of the best, but Jenna didn't just shine because she was the eponymous lead character, she shoned because she was effortlessly becoming her character and flawlessly doing it. It's difficult to not notice how funny she dresses, her shoes are ridiculously funny, but coupled with her jacket and the long flowing skirt, she became this modern-day School girl who was harmless on the surface, but quite formidable in speech, confidence, and presentation.

In Reality, I think Jenna Ortega will never play a better role in her entire career and this is because being 20 and portraying a 15 year might seem easy, but she managed to portray Wednesday Addams an unusual 15 year old is something I believe she was born to do.

Her portrayal of emotion is sheer class. She only laughed once in the whole of the show and she managed to cry at the end, something she seemed incapable of doing. She was against the showcase of emotion and it was difficult to even imagine Jenna Ortega would be capable of smiling and laughing in reality. This is the hallmark of a brilliant actor. Playing Wednesday, shed creates an aura of rigidity, while deep down she was a Softie who was raised to be dependent on her own due to her belief that the frailty of her fellow human might been seen as a weakness.

I think going to Nevermore Academy, was the best thing for her, it digressed her character from the cold-blooded vibes she gave at the beginning of the show to a more magnanimous teenager who displayed selflessness and sacrifice at the end of the show.

(I decided not to review the series because it's a TV show, instead I decided to do a review of the lead character who was worth a personal review due to her brilliant interpretation of her character)
