Scammers are increasing everyday
I spent over 3 days trying to rectify an issue I have with opening and running a celebrity page on Facebook.
After opening it, they blocked the page, saying I had to do a verification to prove I owned the account, and I did, they said they needed my mobile number to verify, after inputting it, I got the error message.
Then I checked with chatGPT it says clear cache and also put a 2FA that lasts you verify account with email and authenticator. After doing this, they requested I add my Facebook password to verify I was the owner of the account, after doing this, they said the password was wrong, but I had been using the password to actually open the account all the while.
I wait, checked to see how far, unfortunately it still didn't work. I spent a couple of hours trying to see if I could get another page running only to get hit with the "error" message for hours.
Then I decided to check why Facebook was so messed up and the system felt like it was run on a $20 server, and I was told that it's because it's running security for millions of people and that's why it can horrible to set up or do verification.
Now they understand that number verifications can be messed up, they didn't at least give you choices like Google would, no external verification, just SMS verification that's always mostly unreliable.
It's honestly horrible because I remember when people were actually hailing Facebook registration and verification process to be the best thing after slice bread and that Hive key system is too complicated.
Safety cannot be compromised for onboarding simplicity
A lot of people fail to understand that safety and security is important, no while Facebook verification and security system is horrible and feels too hollow, I think the reason why the system is completely run by a bot system that flags you at the slightest provocation is just because of security.
A lot of people in the past was always thinking security prevented onboarding, I laughed because Facebook of 10 years ago wasn't paying creators or running ads.
Obviously, when a system becomes monetized to some extent, the security gets tighter, and that was what Hive was, and is always been, bit I guess this has always been the problem; people blame the system for poor onboarding issues even though they don't understand or have a clue.
Crypto is the most targeted industry by scammers, and it'll be crazy for you to want a login system that looks like that of Facebook, ten years back. Hive's security setup isn't even bad and hollow as what Facebook currently have and people felt it prevented onboarding.
I think that's why I think a lot of Hive users have no clue on what onboarding is, and why Hive it crypto in general isn't even meant to be mainstream like Facebook and they just simply craved all that attention, simply because they think it automatically improved the price of the coin.
Back to what I was saying, Facebook, Instagram and other meta apps are not even as targeted as crypto and crypto needs all that protection. I have been hacked of a years salary, even though I've been the most careful person.
Someone posted today that someone else used identity scam to steal their Hive by asking for their wallet keys on Hive. No matter how the security is great, some scammers finds a way because there's always a lot of money involved and scammers prefer to steal instead of hustle hard.
It's crazy that even though we've got some of the best fail safe against any crypto hacks, scammers still finds ways to do it through discord and this is honestly sad.
Now Facebook being absolutely horrible in terms of security is just me trying to say, the system is not as seamless as people think, and there's nothing as easy as it looks.
Facebook onboarded a lot of people because it was the GOAT of social media. It came in when the Internet was just basically Google and nothing else. Without right security people would get hacked and their money would be stolen.
I think people would prefer going to a stiffer onboarding process more than getting hacked, and this has been proven since social media started getting monetizable. This isn't to excuse the nonsense that Facebook does,this is just me saying whenever there's money Involved, the system just has to be tighter
This is alarming to be honest. We have to secure of our accounts and don't just click any links which is not verified.
Yeah, we have a role to play to ensure our own security too.

Maybe that's not to the point, but what I observe is that companies now tend to rely more on AI than people and thus procedures get lost behind the scene. At my company we had several AI implementations and after we have run some vulnerability scans we were scared by what AI did in terms of security. I wonder if Facebook relies more now on AI code which can become messy, even from security point of view...

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
