Splinterlands: Wrong Timing & Incuring "End Of The Season's" Losses

One of the wrongest time to play splinterlands should be at the beginning of the season and probably 12 hours to the end of the season. This is because of the haste to beat deadlines. However, this season seems to be my most ineffective so far and this is because I got beaten more times in 5 hours than I was beaten throughout the remaining days of the season.

I incurred a streak of 8 to 9 losses in the wild format while having a streak of 3 to 4 losses in the modern format. It was crazy. It felt like I hadn't seen some of the summoners these guys are pulling up with. I'm used to playing level 4 to 6 summoners in silver one and gold 3.

There's always the relish to beating costlier lineups

Sometimes, the level of the summoners does not really worry me, it's always the cards, the intent of the lineup, and the seriousness of the opponent.

One of the things I've come to learn about splinterlands is that deadlines matter a lot, it creates intentionality, that's why players go all the way out to rent crazy cards and summoners a day or two to the end of the season because they want to go on a winning streak and probably rack up a lot of chest in the process.

The taste for blood is ravishing

This is probably the heaviest streak of defeat I've experienced playing splinterlands and the reason why I incurred such a loss was that I wanted to beat the end of the season's deadline and win at least one extra chest, while also getting some focus reward in the process. However, I am not the only one with such a plan.

There are over one thousand splinterlands players with plans as this, while my plans center around my tactics and my resources, some players go all out in the rental market to fund their intentions and when one meets such players on the battlefield, there is always one Outcome: defeat.

Deadline intentions create fiesty competitions.

inasmuch as the thrill of the game is exciting, the person with the lesser resources is always going to be playing a losing game. In reality, being up there, in the bigger leagues is the best. This is because of the possibility of earning more rewards. For example, I like playing in wild, not because of the better chances at reward but because of better accessibility to other cards I cannot use in the modern format.

But, the competition was probably stiffer in modern, but now it has shifted to the wild format. This is why people are slain, beaten, and overwhelmed by tactics and strategies they've never seen, and for the first time in a long time, I actually felt this way.

Losses are part of the game

this is why I always relish playing in the gold leagues even though some of these guys are bigger players. *I've managed to record over 80% wins in the modern format of the gold league I outdo myself sometimes

Astonishing right?

But this isn't to say I don't hate the three rulesets in the gold league. It probably challenges players and creates bigger competition, but I always find myself not having options, especially with 12 to 14 mana, and 3 rulesets to beat. However, let's meander a bit to something I've been thinking about for a long time.

Well, people are still passionate about splinterlands,

sometimes I'm wondering, with the end of chaos legion imminent and probably SPS being the only asset with a dollar value in the rewards, how will people react to getting only soulbound cards in the rewards? I know that soul-bound cards are virtually worthless when it comes to dollar value, so what really is the incentive to aim for season's reward? I cannot really tell.

In conclusion

Soon, the chaos legion packs will no longer be an option in the season's reward, so I'm asking myself, apart from SPS, what else is going to be the component of a season's reward to give it some credible dollar value that is worth competing for?

I don't really know, but I guess only time will tell. So far, I've managed to earn only 10 gold chests. Yeah, I earned 11 last season and my aim was 12 but my ECR recharges so slowly and creates the inability to compete at a high level. So, I can't compete anymore, as I'll only be hurting my ECR and still losing. Hopefully, a pack to crown this season's effort.

It was very brutal the last few hours. Last night I was winning with no problems, but today I faced "max-level every card" opponents and could barely scrape a few wins together. For sure I will try and avoid the final 12 hrs as much as possible. I hope you will get more chests next season.

I was also winning as usual yesterday, but I woke up this morning and went on the most heartbreaking losing streak ever, hahaha. I'll also try to avoid the last 12 hours. My ECR is taking a beating, so I can't earn a lot of chest.
