Talking Hive, Adoption & Adding Value

Hive has transcended from being just a social media application, and I feel that one of the best things building real-world applications has done and will continue to do is to create adoption. I mentioned the aspect of HBD, it brings a use case. Then I mentioned splinterlands and liketu and how these real applicable aspect of the blockchain has taken away the concentration on "blog-to-earn", I talked about the aspect of marketing and why marketing might work if there are spontaneous actions especially when it comes to choosing web2 influencers, I feel one of the reasons marketing hasn't overly worked is because of decentralization, it's difficult to come to a consensus of what will work and why it might.

Then I discussed the aspect of adding value and being responsible to providing a proportional value, that differs from the concept of "quality content" alone, I also address the aspect of using Twitter.

I like how you chose a dating app for an example of apps that can be developed on Hive. I believe this is something a lot of Hivers would adopt and would be in love with by the masses.

Can you please throw a little more light on the issue of the old definition of quality amd value being a certain standard number of words? I feel like even though my definition is not centered around it, I might be taking it a little too serious.

I think I saw someone here on Hive mention a couple of weeks how Steemit got themselves featured into a certain movie as a marketing strategy. I think that was a pretty good marketing strategy knowing people like movies. And it seemed like that movie was one a lot of people were interested in.

As I said in the video, the concept of quality content on hive is no longer about amount of words. It goes further into an author's involvement on the Blockchain in general. The ability to network often determines the author who earns more and the author who doesn't. Value, or bringing value is being impactful with your content. Writing or bringing what others would enjoy to consume. Things like powering up, buying hive, taking about the chain, spreading the word is an aspect of value and that's why I think the degree of people's dedication or involvement here is how their value can be arguably measured..
As for quality, most times the ability to network is what determines the earning power of a person here and not necessarily quality. Being innovative, adaptive and ability to study what works is important.

It is exciting to witness Hive evolve from blogging to the capabilities it now has. Value is what we all owe to the chain, contributing to its growth in ways possible for its long term sustainability.

I think your response to DFU is key to what we mean about bring value to the platform. I also think it's important to unlock the utility of Twitter for instance, in a natural way that respects your audience.

I know what my followers like and so I fold Hive content in with their senseabilities in mind. Taking care not to cross the line into anything that appears "salesy" and entering promo mode which would cause fatigue.

Providing useful and inspiring content while being in the mix and acting like the owners that we are, is the key to bringing a true value proposition to Hive.

You have pointed at some key aspects in the evolution of Hive as a vlog-&-earn platform. I feel sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of new apps and communities that now cover every mundane, as you call it, aspect of people's life.
Every new initiative is making Hive more attractive, but is also posing some challenges as, as you rightly point out, you reap what you sow, here. The more tools you can use and the more time and engagement you invest, the more rewards (not only the monetary one).
I used to use Twitter as a source of information (after our newspapers and tv stations got sequestered by the state police), but Twitter can be so toxic, I have had to step back several times. Using organically to promote Hive as part of regular interactions is a great way to circumvent that toxicity, though.
I agree with you, you don't have to spam people's interactions in other social media to call their attention to Hive
They are already coming attracted by what has been built already and the promises of much more to come .
