The Internet & Money-making: Any Doubts About The Future?

I've been involved with the digital space since 2014. This was a time when everyone owned a blog and wanted Google AdSense. In Nigeria, it was what heralded the concept of **magic internet money this was a time no one believed that digital skills could amount to anything.

In 2015 I had this website where people could employ thousands of workers to influence their ability to earn further, either by liking their page on Facebook, leaving a comment on their YouTube videos, subscribing, or giving them five-star ratings on the Fiverr account and so many others. It was like a model of influencing where a group of people could collectively help an online creator earn while giving back this group of people some part of that money. This was crazy and it was how I earned my first internet money in 2015.

The Skill To Take Advantage Of The Exposure

However, this gig required a skill: the ability to be creative, understand engagement online, and be able to give a smart opinion about either an app or an online project, and boom! You get paid. Apart from crowdsourcing, one of the earliest attempts of earning online was blogging

Before, we had crypto, there was a time when people wrote great SEO content in other to get ranked by Google, which automatically translates to unique visits, back then we had this system where people were paid for unique visits and they could easily track where their major traffic comes from. This wasn't easy.

This required the ability to create a profitable niche write well and be able to drive traffic organically. Many people failed and this was because not everyone believed in the potential or money-making opportunities that came with blogging, while the earning opportunities we're limited from being incentivized by Google, nowadays earning opportunities from blogging have tremendously increased

Flexibility & It's Enablements

There were always doubts that any money-making venture on the internet was unreal because it didn't seem to suit the present real-time model we had back then. The idea that a 16, year-old without a university degree could earn money online felt unusual.

Money-making was rigid and never really had that feature of flexibility.
Back then, and due to this doubt many people never took any digital skill seriously. This is to say that we're quick to doubt the next big thing that might change our present and redefine the future especially because it didn't make sense and the model seemed flawed.

Even at the moment, we're still doubting some of the models that would be financially impacting the lives of people who look to the internet for means.

Defining Crypto As A Mere Invisible Money

When Bitcoin became a thing, the concept of invisible and digital money was the only characteristics people could define crypto with, we totally didn't understand a lot, and this is probably because the vastness or richness of the internet hasn't tilted to marketing earning opportunities online as it does nowadays.

When Ponzi schemes started way back in Nigeria, people believed in it more than they did crypto and this was because the model of ponzi schemes was maintaining a constant cycle of "robbing Peter to pay Paul" However one thing no one guessed was the sustainability and longevity.

When money-making isn't following the concept of exchanging value for reward, it'll be difficult to maintain consistency. Now because this scheme involved real people and made sense, many people put their life savings into Ponzi because crypto and the opportunities it brought felt too good to be true.

Internet Influencing: The Peak Of Marketing

Today, almost everything people do can be monetized. Internet influencing has become one of the most Sophisticated tools for marketing. Back then people relied on television houses to market their ventures.

However, even in its centralized state, the internet has made it possible for people to be entertained, learn, earn, and even be informed at the same time. The internet is at a phase where it'll keep experiencing sophistication.

Nowadays, web3:0 is becoming a thing, but not many people can wrap their heads around being to own their data and monetize them. They've been used to the big techs holding and becoming wealthy off these data.

We shouldn't be surprised as to how better the internet can become and the opportunities it'll present, this is why it's important to keep ourselves ready to take advantage. Early Adopting is why we have crypto whales who envisaged the future and now their intuitiveness is paying off.
