Why physical & Social entertainment will always be lucrative economy

Social media is one of the biggest distractions to a working man, by a working man I mean someone who obviously makes his daily living remotely. Working remotely gives you a certain type of freedom.

You can work in your underwears, staying in bed or shift your work hours or midnight and enjoy the freedom of not having a fixed working time. However, working remotely means you need to have a medium of connection.

That tool that lets you access the job you're supposed to do, and most times this is either a mobile or desktop and this are also the same tools we access social media with. I think a lot of people see places like Facebook, Instagram or tiktok as means to stay entertained.

Apparently if you're not working remotely then this is hard, but a lot of people still find ways to work use social media even at their regular places of work, and I think I know why. The contents we find in these places are mostly for entertainment and an escape from the troubles of the real world.

I don't think if it's just in my part of the world, but I think life is hard and people have invented ways to cope with this hardness and one of those ways is to find escape.

I watched this sci-fi movie a while ago, and people were paying to plug their consciousness into an arena that's not real, but this arena is fun filled and entertaining and while they're plugged in here, it's like the system reads their desires and basically just supplies them their endless fantasies when they're plugged in into it.

A lot of people would go there when they're stressed and even though they know the experience is fleeting and unreal, they'll pay anything to have that experience over and over again.

Emotional reaction to stress is entertainment

While of course we have gotten to that level technologically, I think this is what fuels the current creator economy: the urge to create satisfaction, quell curiosity and of course serve endless entertainment that keeps people happy. It's a world where of course people wants to stay happy. The entertainment industry is the most lucrative business models you have.

Look at football, wrestling, any other sports and other entertainments, TV shows, Soaps and many others.

Every day the entrainment industry wants more intense entertainment, and this means that creators will go to any length to actually bring the type of entertainment that people wants. Entertainment is the soul of reality. People who do not like social entertainment on the Internet might prefer real life entertainment.

Most people one way or another are actively paying for entertainment even though it's not giving them any financial dividends, infact entertainment is not supposed to pay in cash, except for the people who are bringing these creative experiences to you.

The creator economy has been existing since the beginning of time

People are supposed to make their money in their own unique ways and use this to pay for their own entertainment. In every civilization, entertainment has always found itself at the very core of human existence and activities. The Roman empire has the "fight to death" thingy they do in their colosseum and many other races too.

Entrainment has always been there, I think it'll always be and people will constantly pay and this means the creator economy will never go into extinction, it might evolve, but people will always constantly pay.

Psychologically people need breaks from the problems of life, people need to refresh from work, some others needs to unwind. Our emotional reaction to stress is to seek entertainment and relaxation and we're always going to pay for this no matter what. It might be a distraction sometimes but it actually keeps people together.

Entertainment ties into the very core of human need, and that's why we will always have creators constantly competing for attention

It's a massive escape. I used a lot of social media when I was doing some coperate work and whenever I was back home, I resorted to it to actually entertain myself. It's a big escape. That's why I think it's here to stay.

The Roman empire has the "fight to death" thingy they do in their colosseum and many other races too.

Also known as gladiators 😄

"Panem et circenses" - Bread and circus. Opiates for the masses.

Give them their bare necessities, and cheap or free entertainment to keep the populations complacent. Then they will never revolt because they are too distracted from reality.

Yeah, well I won't fault people for choosing entertainment though, a lot of people says it helps them. With the Romans back in the day, I think it was mostly just about not having a lot to do, the economic situation wasn't so bad that they had to do multi jobs a day to survive, I think.

The internet just has so many things out there. I think the creator economy is just a natural part of the digital world now, but I think it's pretty much saturated now with so much competition. I kind of hate how far some people have gone to get attention by including things such as crimes.

Yes, you're right about saturation, I know someone who has some of the finest tech skills in the game and he still doesn't have the gigs he wants. Saturation is always a real problem
