Freewrite: My Thoughts On Imagination

I often imagine what it would be like to be in certain situations and visualize different outcomes. My earliest practical use of this was when I was a teenager, I became heavily involved with futuristic role-playing games (RPGs) like Generic Universal Roleplaying System (GURPS) and Shadowrun. I spent long hours visualizing technology and then creating it on paper. I had a partner in crime who I’d spend long hours in a Jack in the Box restaurant creating imaginary technology and integrating it into our games. We created all of the necessary drawings, diagrams, stats to support our 'discoveries'. These activities helped me learn to imagine possibilities, and the skill necessary to create solutions to problems. These skills have contributed significantly to my ability as an engineer in the information technology field. It has allowed me to imagine scenarios that could be more practically applied to real life rather than fanciful science fiction. I could envision practical solutions to real world problems and potential risks, and document and share them. My imagination helps me visualize unique solutions for my customers. Outside of work, my imagination runs wild in terms of artificial intelligence, space travel, and advanced weaponry. I feel as though my vivid imagination has greatly influenced who I am as a person. It has also has helped me become an early adopter of technologies. Bitcoin and crypto in most recent history. I would like to tap into more of those creative juices I had as a teenager, if they haven't all dried up.
