Officiating Basketball Games in Catarman, Cordova, Cebu

Hello Hivers have a great day! I wish you are all doing fine with your family .
This time I would like to share about basketball games and my life as a basketball referee.

In Catarman, Cebu , they have the yearly inter color basketball league being organized by SK Officials and Barangay officials. This league is part of their recreation in anticipation for the fiesta of their
Sitio.

The court is open but it is cemented which is comfortable for players to play. The officials there were inviting famous ballers just for exhibition game , whose players were x-PBA player , X-Varsity players for the fun of residents . This annual league was organized by some active officials to foster camaraderie , sportsmanship and it is just for their fun and friendly games .

The league has different categories such us ,14- under, junior category and senior category . The prize for champion is 7500 pesos, 5000 pesos for second placer and 3000 for the third placer . Residents their were gathered to watch the games which started at 6:30 PM.

Some residents were prepared their small business for snacks such as fishballs ( filipino style food made by white fish fillets with starch , flour , onion and garlic which blended together ) , fried chicken with hanging rice , juice, ice waters, etcetera.

The game consist of 5 official referees and I am one of the officials . We had 2 table officials for score book and timer and 3 referees to run for officiating. The games were getting intense since it was in semifinal round and last game for championship . Some residents were betting for the team they want to . Referees were getting pressured in this case in which some were betting games . We should made an accurate calls as much as possible to make them contented whatever the outcomes of the game .

The last game which was a championship has full of excitement and suspense at the same for it was having a closed running scores . Players at both teams were trying their best game in order to win . Suddenly , the weather was unexpected and the rain falls hard . At 4th quarter with 4 minutes 44 seconds left , the game was being stopped and the excitement of players and viewers was also hanged up .
