If the plants and trees
they are born to give life
Why do we mutilate them?
Why not plant them?
Why not love them?
Why not water them?
Why not take care of them?

To mutilate a tree is to subtract from the air

Si las plantas y los árboles
nacen para dar vida
Por qué los mutilamos?
Por qué no sembrarlos?
Por qué no amarlos?
Por qué no regarlos?
Por qué no cuidarlos?

Mutilar un árbol es restarle al aire
nuestro hálito de vida,
es herir la tierra
y sus habitantes.

Si no siembras la vida
sólo cosecharás muerte en tu devenir
y te irás apagando cuál luz

o intentaste ser.

Por qué no aferrarte a él
como un niño a su madre
y abrazarlo con amor inspirador
para que otros te sigan.

Por qué no regarlos?
regar un árbol es oxigenar tu vida
es transferir la savia por sus venas
hasta llegar al último y tierno retoño.

Por qué no cuidarlos?
Si proteges los árboles
estás protegiendo la vida
de todas las especies,
estás protegiéndote a tí mismo
y de evitar que el mundo
pierda el hálito de ese mundo
