SOMOS EL TIEMPO

No son los años ni el tiempo
lo que envejece
sino el trato que le damos a ambos
apresurados cuando somos joven
como adelantar el reloj.

El tiempo simplemente
es el tiempo con sus noches y sus días
con sus madrugadas
y atardeceres.

Los tres momentos de la vida
la niñez, la juventud y la vejez
son grados de aprendizaje
que como eslabón
van formando la cadena
de nuestra existencia
y en cada eslabón
dejamos una huella
que pierde su poder
y pasa a hacer
un eslabón oxidado
como las páginas amarillas
de un viejo cuaderno.

Nuestro frágil ropaje
que envuelve el pensamiento, la razón y los sentimientos
ante el tiempo es solo
un grano cósmico
que flota en el mar
como molécula de sal
que va y viene a todas partes.

Gracias a que el tiempo no existe
porque el tiempo
somos nosotros.

they form the chain

we left a mark
that loses its power
and goes on to do
a rusty link
like the yellow pages
from an old notebook.

our fragile clothing
that involves thought, reason and feelings
before time is alone
a microcosmic grain
that floats in the sea
like salt molecule
that comes and goes everywhere.

Thanks to the fact that time does not exist
because the time
