[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Thanksgiving
Welcome my dear discount-loving travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, many times I decide to watch movies just because their cover catches my attention and that is exactly what happened with the film that brings us together today titled “Thanksgiving” which seemed to approach Black Friday in a dark way. Without further ado, prepare to give your life for some offers because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros amantes de los descuentos y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, muchas veces decido ver películas únicamente por llamarme la atención su portada y eso es justo lo que sucedió con el filme que hoy nos reúne titulado “Thanksgiving” la cual parecía enfocar el Black Friday de una forma oscura. Sin más que agregar prepárense para dar la vida por algunas ofertas pues estamos por comenzar.

It is a slasher horror film, the story takes place after a Black Friday that went terribly wrong due to the death of various people, a year later a mysterious murderer disguised as a settler begins to wreak havoc by taking the lives of all the people who met him. were involved in the tragedy.

Es un filme de terror slasher, la historia se desarrolla después de un Black Friday que salió terriblemente mal debido al fallecimiento de diversas personas, un año después un misterioso asesino disfrazado de colono comienza a hacer estragos al quitarles la vida a todas las personas que se vieron involucradas en la tragedia.

The soundtrack is good in general terms, it does not result in something spectacular but at least it gives a good atmosphere that makes some of its scenes interesting.
La banda sonora está bien en líneas generales, no resulta en algo espectacular pero por lo menos da una buena ambientación que hace interesante algunas de sus escenas.
The construction of the world is inconsequential, it only has the merit of using some curious camera angles in the moments of greatest tension, since these make these situations more interesting, apart from the above there is not much else to highlight in this section.
La construcción del mundo es intrascendente, la misma solo tiene el mérito de utilizar algunos ángulos de cámara curiosos en los momentos de mayor tensión, siendo que estos hacen más interesantes dichas situaciones, fuera de lo anterior no hay mucho más que destacar de este apartado.
The plot is loaded with bloody and unpleasant scenes (I don't know why lately the films I come across are so horrible), these being the main attraction of the film since it has nothing else to offer. Narratively there is not much, the film tries to generate some mystery around the murderer, however, clues are never given to discover who the psychopath is so it is only a revelation that is given without being able to anticipate it in any way, this makes the mystery is artificial, in turn, the villain enjoys the power of the script to always emerge victorious from his different conflicts until the film decides that he stops being so intelligent. The duration is short, this means that its grotesque scenes serve to keep the film interesting and not feel boring at any time.
La trama se encuentra cargada de escenas sangrientas y desagradables (No sé por qué últimamente los filmes con los que me topo son tan horridos) siendo estos el principal atractivo del mismo puesto que no tiene más nada para ofrecer. Narrativamente no hay mucho, la cinta intenta generar algo de misterio alrededor del asesino, no obstante, nunca se dan pistas para poder descubrir quién es el psicópata por lo que solo es una revelación que se da sin poder anticiparla de ninguna forma, esto hace que el misterio sea artificial, a su vez, el villano goza del poder del guion para siempre salir airoso de sus diferentes conflictos hasta cuando el filme decide que deje de ser tan inteligente. La duración es corta, esto hace que sus escenas grotescas sirvan para mantener interesante el filme y que no se sienta aburrida en ningún momento.
The characters are cannon fodder so they have no major relevance apart from the fact that they are only present to suffer horrible deaths. As I mentioned, the villain is always the most intelligent and the one who manages to carry out all the atrocities he can, because the film allows it until from one moment to the next he loses the power of the script, apart from that there is not much else to highlight.
Los personajes son carne de cañón por lo que no tienen mayor relevancia aparte del hecho de estar presentes únicamente para sufrir muertes horrible. Como mencioné, el villano es siempre el más inteligente y el que consigue realizar todas las atrocidades que puede, porque el filme así lo permite hasta que de un momento a otro pierde el poder del guion, fuera de ello no hay mucho más que destacar.
Thanksgiving is an extremely nauseating film that tries to stand out for the unpleasant and creative scenes it has, other than that it doesn't have much to highlight because bizarre scenes are the only thing it has to offer. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, it has the merit of having caused me a lot of disgust on more than one occasion.
Thanksgiving es un filme sumamente nauseabundo que intenta resaltar por las escenas tanto desagradables como creativas que tiene, fuera de ello no tiene mucho que destacar debido a que escenas bizarras es lo único que tiene para ofrecer. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, tiene el meritó de haberme causado muchísimo asco en más de una ocasión.
