[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Drive | A diversified driver
Welcome my dear internet travelers and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, I have been looking at this film for a long time and for no specific reason I have been postponing it since I have not published it for a long time, I thought I agreed to write a review about the film "Drive" which promises to drive a good dose of suspense and intrigue. Without further ado, put on your racing gloves because we are about to start.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros conductores del internet y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, llevo tiempo con este filme en la mira y sin ninguna razón en específico la he estado postergando siendo que también llevo tiempo sin publicar me pareció acordé hacer una reseña sobre el filme "Drive" el cual promete conducir una buena dosis de suspenso e intriga. Sin más que agregar pónganse sus guantes de carrera pues estamos por comenzar.
Drive was released in 2011, based on the homonymous book written by James Sallis, the film was directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and produced by MWM Studios, it has a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is a story of drama and suspense, it focuses on a man who works as a driver in stunts in movies but also for the right price he works as an escape driver for criminals, he has a set of rules which he follows at the foot of the letter to remain anonymous and be able to continue working safely. However, everything changes when he begins to become fond of his neighbor and his little son, which will be the cause of countless inconveniences and problems.
Drive fue estrenada en 2011, basada en el libro homónimo escrito por James Sallis, el filme fue dirigido por Nicolas Winding Refn y producido por MWM Studios, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 40 minutos. Es una historia de drama y suspenso, se centra en un hombre el cual trabaja como conductor en escenas de riesgo en películas pero también por el precio correcto funge como chofer de escape para delincuentes, tiene un conjunto de reglas las cuales sigue al pie de la letra para mantenerse en el anonimato y poder seguir trabajando sin riesgos. Sin embargo todo cambia cuando se empieza a encariñar con su vecina y con su pequeño hijo los cuales serán la causa de un sin número de inconvenientes y problemas.

The fact that he uses the soundtrack as a pillar of support for the film is pleasant, since on more than one occasion this is the only element that is heard, all with the aim of generating more tension in the various scenes, which is why the section feels well implemented to serve as a remarkable and leading element on the tape.
Es agradable el hecho de que utilice la banda sonora como un pilar de apoyo del filme siendo que en más de una ocasión este es el único elemento que se escucha, todo con el fin de generar más tensión en las diversas escenas, es por ello que el apartado se siente bien implementado para fungir como elemento destacable y protagónico en la cinta.
The construction of the world is complex, not because it exposes a world that is difficult to understand, but because the information is given little by little, making the setting not very specific about many things, this causes many things to remain unclear and with exploration. almost nil, what must be ruled out is that despite the lack of elements, at least the little it gives serves to understand the context fairly well.
La construcción de mundo es compleja no por el hecho de que exponga un mundo difícil de entender sino porque la información se da a cuenta gotas haciendo que la ambientación sea poco específica sobre muchas cosas, esto provoca que muchos elementos queden sin esclarecer y con una exploración casi nula, lo que hay que descartar es que pese a la carencia de elementos por lo menos lo poco que da sirve para entender medianamente bien el contexto. Otro punto agradable de este apartado son los diferentes ángulos de cámara muy interesantes y dramáticos apartes iguales siendo factores que le dan personalidad al filme.
The plot is even more squalid than the setting being that it lacks exploration and a clear premise, this would not be a problem if a goal or objective was later established but this never happens leaving a narrative that oscillates between style over substance and something more serious , this indecision prevents you from developing something congruent. It is necessary to highlight that in many cases the plot feels rushed and with forced elements that do not end up coming together correctly, at first you have a film with a character who has a double life who tries to make sense of it and find value. in it, the next moment there is a strange love triangle without much sense, then violence is added disproportionately that seeks to fill the lack of something interesting with numerous confrontations that are not well executed; all this only shows an incongruous narrative that is not clear about what it wants to be or where it wants to go.
La trama es incluso más escuálida que la ambientación siendo que carece de exploración y de una premisa clara, esto no sería un problema si posteriormente se estableciera un objetivo o meta pero esto nunca pasa dejando una narrativa que oscila entre estilo sobre sustancia y algo más serio, esta indecisión le impide desarrollar algo congruente. Es necesario destacar que en muchos casos la trama se siente apresurada y con elementos añadidos de forma forzada que no terminan de cuajando correctamente, en un primer momento se tiene un filme con un personaje que tiene una doble vida que intenta darle un sentido y encontrar valor en la misma, al momento siguiente se tiene un triángulo amoroso extraño sin mucho sentido, luego se procede a añadir violencia de forma desproporcionada que busca rellenar la falta de algo interesante con numerosos enfrentamientos que no se encuentran bien ejecutados; todo ello solo evidencia una narrativa incongruente que no tiene claro que quiere ser ni a donde quiere llegar.
Quiet characters are often used to make them look interesting, but this formula does not work for the protagonist because it is extremely boring to constantly focus on a guy who has less dialogue than a secondary character, who has no personality and who lacks of any iota of characterization that makes him feel interesting and that allows minimal empathy with him. The rest of the characters are supposed to complement the protagonist, although since the latter is an empty shell, there is not much that can be done, the villains are not really remarkable either, since they are only there to move the plot without achieving it satisfactorily.
Muchas veces se hace uso de personajes callados para hacerlos lucir interesantes pero esta fórmula no funciona para el protagonista debido a que es sumamente aburrido que enfoquen de forma constante a un tipo que tiene menos diálogos que un personaje secundario, que no tiene personalidad y que carece de cualquier ápice de caracterización que lo haga sentir interesante y que permita empatizar minimante con él. El resto de personajes se supone que están para complementar al protagonista aunque al ser este último un cascarón vacío no hay mucho que se pueda hacer, los villanos tampoco son realmente destacables, puesto que estos solo están ahí para mover la trama sin conseguirlo satisfactoriamente.
Drive had a good chance of being something remarkable if it had taken a more suitable path to develop its plot in a better way, this deficiency is seasoned with very forgettable characters and with a lack of information that ends up hurting it greatly. That is why it deserves 2.5 stars out of 7, it is not the worst in the world but it did have a high potential to become something more interesting than it ended up being.
Drive tenía buenas posibilidades de ser algo destacable si hubiese tomado un camino más adecuado para desarrollar su trama de mejor forma, está carencia es sazonada con personajes muy olvidables y con una falta de información que termina perjudicándole de sobremanera. Es por ello que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, no es lo peor del mundo pero si tenía un alto potencial para llegar a ser algo más interesante de lo que termino siendo.

Es bueno verle publicando amigo. En verdad que lo que se propone como argumento para la película, daba para mucho más.
Pues si mi estimado, he estado con diversas cosas y no había podido dedicarle un tiempo a las reseñas. Con respecto a la cinta, si se hubiese decantado por tener un objetivo más claro hubiese sido algo más destacable y memorable, una pena la verdad.
