[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Jarhead: Law of Return
Welcome my dear internet traveling marines and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, it has been a while since my last publication, I decided to take some time due to personal circumstances, having overcome all this I decided to watch a film focused entirely on war confrontations, although it is not my favorite genre, from time to time I decide to give this type of films a chance to see what they have to offer, today I bring you a film titled "Jarhead: Law of Return" which forms part of a saga dedicated to that genre that I have already brought before. Without further ado, get ready to rescue a valuable asset because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos marines viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, ha pasado un tiempo desde mi última publicación, decidí tomarme un tiempo debido a circunstancias personales, habíendo superado todo ello decidí verme un filme enfocado enteramente a las confrontaciones bélicas, si bien no es de mi género favorito de vez en cuando decido darle una oportunidad a este tipo de cintas a ver que tienen para ofrecer, el día de hoy les traigo una película titulada "Jarhead: Law of Return" la cual forma parte de una saga dedicada a ese género que ya he traído con anterioridad. Sin más que agregar prepárense para rescatar a un activo valioso pues estamos por comenzar.
Jarhead: Law of Return was released in 2019, directed by Don Michael Paul, produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment and BUFO, and has a duration of 1 hour and 43 minutes. It is a war film, the story focuses on Commander Ronan Jackson, a successful fighter pilot of the Israeli Defense Force, in turn, he is the son of a US senator, the problem arises when during a flight his plane is shot down, Miraculously, he survives only to be kidnapped by a group of terrorists, thus becoming a high-value target that American forces, together with Israeli forces, will try to rescue.

Es un filme bélico, la historia se centra en el comandante Ronan Jackson, un exitoso piloto de caza de la Fuerza de Defensa Israelí, a su vez, es hijo de un senador estadounidense, el problema surge cuando durante un vuelo su avión es derribado, milagrosamente este sobrevive solo para ser secuestrado por un grupo de terroristas, convirtiéndose así en un objetivo de alto valor al cual las fuerza estadounidenses en conjunto con las israelíes intentaran rescatar.

The soundtrack is not really anything remarkable, it is present throughout the film but does not really make a difference or have any memorable presence.
La banda sonora no es realmente nada destacable, se encuentra presente a lo largo del filme pero no marca realmente la diferencia ni tiene alguna presencia memorable.
The construction of the world is simple, it is reduced to showing a context plagued by conflicts and problems, in turn, it involves various military and intelligence agencies that are related to this whole matter; The above is the only thing that presents its world, something quite expected and predictable.
La construcción del mundo es simple, la misma se reduce a mostrar un contexto plagado de conflictos y problemas, a su vez, involucra a diversas agencias militares y de inteligencia que se encuentran relacionadas con todo ese asunto; lo anterior es lo único que presenta su mundo, algo bastante esperable y predecible.
The plot is simple, it focuses on a group of skilled and highly trained individuals who must face a group of terrorists to save the life of a valuable asset, based on this the entire film is developed. The narrative does not have much to highlight, throughout the film there are different armed confrontations that represent the most interesting thing about the film, it does not contain any interesting twist or anything similar. The length is fine, it lasts long enough to entertain with its shooting scenes, but not too long that they become tedious.
La trama es simple, se centra en un grupo de individuos capacitados y altamente entrenados que deben enfrentarse a un grupo de terroristas para salvar la vida de un activo valioso, con base en esto es que se desarrolla toda la película. La narrativa no tiene mucho que destacar, a lo largo del filme se presentan diferentes enfrentamientos armados que representan lo más interesante que tiene la cinta, no alberga ningún giro interesante ni nada que se le asemeje. La duración está bien, dura lo suficiente como para entretener con sus escenas de disparos, pero no demasiado para que se vuelvan tediosas.
This film suffers from the fact that it does not work on its characters in any way, this means that you do not feel empathy for them and that their deaths do not have the impact on the viewer that they are supposed to have, a mistake that they have made on repeated occasions, outside From the above there is nothing more to highlight in this section.
Este filme peca del hecho de no trabajar sus personajes de ninguna forma, esto hace que no sientas empatía por estos y que sus muertes no tengan el impacto en el espectador que se supone deberían de tener, un error que han cometido en reiteradas oportunidades, fuera de lo anterior no hay nada más que destacar en este apartado.
Jarhead: Law of Return does its job by presenting various armed confrontations loaded with shots and copious amounts of blood, however, apart from that there is nothing else to highlight because its premise is very simple and its characters are completely forgettable despite The film tries to force you to feel empathy for them. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2.5 stars out of 7, it is not bad per se although it lacks some element that makes it moderately interesting and that makes it stand out above the rest.
Jarhead: Law of Return cumple con el hecho de presentar diversas confrontaciones armadas cargadas de disparos y cantidades abundantes de sangre, no obstante, fuera de eso no hay nada más que destacar debido a que su premisa es muy simple y sus personajes son completamente olvidables pese a que el filme intente a fuerzas que sientas empatía por estos. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, no es mala per se aunque carece de algún elemento que la haga medianamente interesante y que la haga destacar por sobre el resto.

Este tipo de peliculas realmente no te conecta con los personajes, ya que se basa solo en presentar a la audiencia la acción que nos trae la trama, tuve la oportunidad de verla hace unos años y tenia bastante violencia, por lo que no me gusto mucho, concuerdo contigo que pudieron sacarle mas ventaja a la historia mostrandonos a sus personajes desde un punto de vista mas humano. Ese es el problema con este tipo de filmes bélicos, los cuales de forma artificial intentan crear una empatía por sus personajes, algo que por obvias razones no funciona, ergo, no llega a ser una película de acción per se pero tampoco consiguen desarrollar a sus personajes de alguna forma lo que hace que sean un desastre.

Tratan de tomar el camino fácil según creo y cargan la película de violencia o de escenas grotescas. Cuando un buen guion sería lo mejor para hacer una obra de calidad, creo que así lograrían hacer mucho más dinero que produciendo filmes, como si hicieran churros.
