[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Heilstätten | A damn place and young idiots is a bad combination
Welcome my dear internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, I am a horror lover so I cannot resist when I see a cover that seems interesting to me, that is why when I saw the cover of “Heilstätten” which focuses on one of the scariest places there can be, such as asylums, so I had to give it a chance. Without further ado, prepare to spend the night in a cursed place because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, soy amante del terror por lo que no puedo resistirme cuando veo una portada que me parece interesante, es por ello que cuando vi la portada de “Heilstätten” que se enfoca en uno de los sitios más espeluznantes que puede haber como son los manicomios por lo que tuve que darle una oportunidad. Sin más que agregar prepárense para pasar la noche en un sitio maldito pues estamos por comenzar.
Heilstätten is a German film released in 2018, directed by Michael David Pate, produced by Fox Film International and Schmerbeck Filmproduktion, it has a duration of 1 hour and 29 minutes. It is a horror film, the story focuses on a group of youtubers who decide to take a test of courage in an abandoned sanatorium, a place that was the scene of countless tragedies and misfortunes, it does not occur to these young people a better idea than going to investigate said site and capture some paranormal events on camera, needless to say that this will be something that will not turn out as they expect.
Heilstätten es un filme alemán estrenado en 2018, dirigido por Michael David Pate, producido por Fox Film International y Schmerbeck Filmproduktion, cuenta con una duración 1 hora y 29 minutos. Es una cinta de terror, la historia se centra en un grupo de youtubers los cuales deciden hacer una prueba de valor en un sanatorio abandonado, siendo un sitio que fue escenario de un sin número de tragedias y desgracias, a estos jóvenes no se les ocurre una mejor idea que ir a investigar dicho sitio y captar algunos sucesos paranormales en cámara, esta demás decir que esto será algo que no saldrá como ellos esperan.

The soundtrack is completely absent, honestly there is nothing to highlight because its presence in the film is nil.
La banda sonora se encuentra totalmente ausente, sinceramente no hay nada que destacar debido a que su presencia en el filme es nula.
The world building is pathetic, it only focuses on showing dark places without the slightest intention of doing something interesting with the scenery, this leaves the context as a wasted element. The camera angles are excessively annoying because they don't really have anything to contribute, most of the time it's just a camera moving while recording small scenes of the idiot on duty screaming in fear, this reduces the situations to just pathetic things that seem to have been recorded by children.
La construcción de mundo es patética, solo se centra en mostrar sitios oscuros sin la más mínima intención de hacer algo interesante con la escenografía, esto deja al contexto como un elemento desaprovechado. Los ángulos de cámara son excesivamente molestos debido a que no tienen realmente nada que aportar, la mayoría del tiempo solo es una cámara moviéndose mientras graba pequeñas escenas del tonto de turno gritando asustado, esto reduce las situaciones a solo cosas patéticas que parecen haber sido grabadas por niños.
The plot is as generic and boring as can be expected, a group of young people who can't think of anything better than going into a desolate and abandoned place to see who is braver, the unoriginal premise says it all, despite this Added to this is the fact that it is never scary since it spends too much time showing the kids screaming at the camera and running, while it never shows anything truly creepy. The narrative is the stupidest thing I have seen in a long time, at the last minute it decides to give one of the worst plot twists and it makes no sense, it is forced beyond measure and lacks any kind of logic, in the last 15 minutes it decides condensing an entire absurd explanation about how said twist is supposed to make some kind of sense (PD: It never does and it only makes the film even more pathetic). I thank everything sacred that this garbage lasts less than an hour and a half, if I'm honest I was falling asleep because of how tedious and bland it is, it has nothing interesting that really catches the viewer's attention, its easy scares are completely embarrassing, and to make matters worse, they happen every 20 minutes so he doesn't even know how to do that right.
La trama es tan genérica y aburrida como se puede esperar, un grupo de jóvenes que no se les ocurre nada mejor que meterse a un sitio desolado y abandonado para ver quién es más valiente, la premisa poco original lo dice todo, no obstante a ello también se le suma el hecho de que nunca da miedo puesto que gasta demasiado tiempo en mostrar a los chicos gritándole a la cámara y corriendo, siendo que nunca muestra algo verdaderamente espeluznante. La narrativa es lo más estúpido que haya visto en mucho tiempo, a último minuto decide dar uno de los peores giros argumentales y que tiene nulo sentido, es forzado a más no poder y carece de cualquier clase de lógica, en los últimos 15 minutos decide condensar toda una explicación absurda sobre cómo se supone que dicho giro tiene alguna clase de sentido (PD: Nunca lo tiene y solo hace aún más patético al filme). Agradezco a todo lo sagrado que esta basura dure menos de hora y media, si les soy sincero me estaba quedando dormido de lo tediosa y sosa que resulta, no tiene nada interesante que realmente atrape la atención del espectador, sus sustos fáciles son completamente vergonzosos, y para más inri, suceden cada 20 minutos por lo que ni siquiera sabe hacer eso bien.
Nothing to highlight here, I can only say that the film manages to make the vast majority of its characters completely pedantic and unpleasant, what a great achievement on their part.
Nada que destacar aquí, solo puedo decir que el filme consigue hacer que la gran mayoría de sus personajes sean completamente pedantes y desagradables, que gran logro de su parte.
Heilstätten is a joke in bad taste, I can't take this piece of garbage seriously at any time, I honestly find it hard to believe that this rubbish is a serious film with a professional production behind it, an absolute nonsense. It is for all the above that it deserves the highest of dishonors by obtaining the miserable half-star rating of 7, a complete waste of time recommended for those who want to cure insomnia.
Heilstätten es una broma de mal gusto, no puedo tomarme en serio este pedazo de basura en ningún momento, sinceramente me cuesta creer que este bodrio es un filme serio y con una producción profesional a sus espaldas, un despropósito absoluto. Es por todo lo anterior que merece el más alto de los deshonores al obtener la miserable calificación de media estrella de 7, una completa pérdida de tiempo recomendada para aquellos que quieran curarse el insomnio.
