[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Violent Night
Welcome my dear Christmas travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, something very common in Christmas films is to give them an interesting and different twist to their custom, I know that we are not in the holiday season but Anyway, I wanted to see this film titled “Violent Night” because its cover looked simply very striking. Without further ado, prepare your hammers because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros navideños del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, algo muy común en los filmes navideños es darles un giro interesante y diferente a la costumbre de los mismos, sé que no estamos en épocas decembrinas pero de todas formas tenía ganas de ver esta cinta titulada “Violent Night” debido a que su portada lucía simplemente muy llamativa. Sin más que agregar preparen sus martillos pues estamos por comenzar.

It is a comedy and action film, the story takes place during a Christmas night, a tired and bitter Santa Claus was making a stop at a bar trying to get a little drunk before continuing with his gift delivery, at the same time, a wealthy family He was celebrating a very elegant and hypocritical Christmas Eve in equal parts, however, his evening would be interrupted by a group of mercenaries who were looking to rob him, with their lives at risk, it will be the good-natured Christmas guy who will be involved in said conflict. and the one who will have to do extra bloody work in order to rescue those people.
Violent Night fue estrenada en 2022, dirigida por Tommy Wirkola y producida por 87North, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 52 minutos. Es un filme de comedia y acción, la historia se desarrolla durante una noche buena, un cansado y amargado Santa Claus se encontraba haciendo una parada en un bar tratando de embriagarse un poco antes de seguir con su entrega de regalos, paralelamente, una familia adinerada se encontraba celebrando una víspera de la navidad muy elegante e hipócrita a partes iguales, sin embargo, su velada sería interrumpida por un grupo de mercenarios los cuales buscaban robarles, con sus vidas en riesgo será el bonachón navideño el que se verá involucrado en dicho conflicto y el que tendrá que hacer trabajo sangriento extra a fin de rescatar a esas personas.

Lo anterior se repite con este apartado, es en líneas generales es bastante intrascendente y carente de importancia, por lo que no me extenderé en el.
The plot is curious, throughout it you can see how its premise is simple because it focuses purely on showing violence, morbid situations and somewhat twisted comedy, all this accumulation of elements makes it entertaining. There is not much to mention narratively, it is simple and is aimed at being more style over substance since its complexity is zero. The duration is a bit long, being almost 2 hours long for the little interesting content it has is a bit exaggerated, the above being what makes it feel a bit tedious.
La trama es curiosa, a lo largo de esta se puede evidenciar cómo su premisa es simple debido a que se enfoca puramente en mostrar violencia, situaciones mórbidas y comedia algo retorcida, todo este cúmulo de elementos la hacen entretenida. No hay mucho que mencionar narrativamente, es simple y se encuentra orientada a ser algo más estilo sobre sustancia puesto que su complejidad es nula. La duración es un poco extensa, tener casi 2 horas de duración para el poco contenido interesante que tiene es un poco exagerado, siendo lo anterior lo que hace que se sienta un poco tediosa.
The characters are unimportant, both the protagonists and the antagonists are flat and boring, the only one who has a certain degree of relevance is Santa although this is not used much either, most of the time the latter stands out for his ease of breaking skulls.
Los personajes carecen de importancia, tanto los protagonistas como los antagonistas resultan planos y aburridos, el único que tiene cierto grado de relevancia es Santa aunque esto tampoco se utiliza de mucho que digamos, la mayoría del tiempo este último destaca es por su facilidad para romper cráneos.
Violent Night is a film that is dedicated to fulfilling what it promises, it contains a considerable number of violent and bloody scenes, curious confrontations and the occasional comedy situation that is entertaining, apart from the above there is nothing else to highlight because The film is quite simple. It is for all the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, the twist that was given to the Christmas movie standard is curious, it is nothing spectacular but at least it is moderately interesting, especially if you like action movies.
Violent Night es un filme que se dedica a cumplir lo que promete, alberga una cantidad considerable de escenas violentas y sangrientas, enfrentamientos curiosos y una que otra situación de comedia que es entretenida, fuera de lo anterior no hay más nada que destacar debido a que el filme es bastante simple. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, resulta curioso el giro que se le dio al estándar de películas navideñas, no es nada espectacular pero por lo menos es medianamente interesante sobre todo si te gustan las películas de acción.

hahaha a movie loaded with a lot of violence, as you say it is impressive how Christmas movies have changed.
I saw this movie in December and couldn't resist reviewing it for the same reason.
In general it was interesting, it is not the greatest wonder in the world but it is good in general terms.

Santa es una imagen de esperanza, de algo bueno, inocente y tierno. Un icono de un amor por los más pequeños, Es triste que lo conviertan en algo violento y oscuro.
Nunca podre imaginar que se pueda retorcer y corromper a Santa, aun haciendo una comedia.
Pero en este mundo hay de todo.
No soy fanático tampoco de la tergiversación de imágenes icónicas e infantiles, lamentablemente es muy común, ya se vio el caso con Winnie Pooh y próximamente con Mickey Mouse, desgraciadamente hay un público para este tipo de cosas.

This movie was just "ok" in my book. "Fatman" with Mel Gibson was better IMO.
I'll take note and probably review it in the near future.
