EL GRINGO. [ESP][ENG].
Hasta que una serie de acontecimientos en mi vida, me han traído aquí a Brasil, a la bella ciudad de Río de Janeiro. Al llegar lo primero que pude sentir fue su fuerza y la energía del lugar, increíble, pero sí, había llegado a mi destino.
Llegue en días de mucho calor en el mes de octubre, me tomo 4 días el llegar hasta la ciudad, hice en largo recorrido por la vía terrestre y a mitad de camino, logre tomar un vuelo, un viaje agotador, pero lleno de emoción, la idea de comenzar una nueva etapa era espléndida, con intentos previos, todos fallidos pero finalmente sucedió.
Yo había tomado una decisión final en este asunto y no la cambiaría.
Mi país de origen es un país con clima caluroso en algunos meses del año, pensé que sería algo parecido, que estaba preparado para el verano, pero ni imaginar el calor era de un nivel superior y no exagero.
Afortunadamente, me adapté en pocos días, así comencé a aprender el idioma con la convivencia con sus habitantes, con el compartir del día a día, además de hacer amigos de otros países, escuchar sus historias de vida que los trajeron a Brasil así también me contaron de su vida y país de origen, me sentí muy bien recibido por este encantador pueblo, que me brindo su apoyo y su paciencia, me enseño sobre su gastronomía increíble, una delicia, sus tradiciones, como la pascua y la fiesta del mes de junio, algo nuevo para mí, solo cariño, sonrisas y brazos abiertos para expresar su bienvenida para conmigo.
Aprender su lengua fue todo un reto, no solo era el problema al intentar pronunciar correctamente lo que fue difícil para mí, sino usar palabras que toda mi vida aprendí, que en español son incorrectas, aquí se usen como parte de su idioma, todo un reto que se superaba de a poco por cada día que pasaba.
En poco tiempo empecé a disfrutar de su comida, conocer las principales vías de transporte, y ya con documentos en mano sumado a un portugués básico comenzó la construcción de este proyecto.
Como en todo proyecto la parte financiera es importante, por lo que dedique todo mi tiempo a buscar un empleo, una tarea dura en mi situación pero nada imposible. La oportunidad se presentó y fue bienvenida.
Una intensa actividad laboral, confieso que el cansancio no era nada comparado con mi satisfacción.
El tomar ese empleo me motivo aún más a aprender su idioma igual mis compañeros de labores disfrutaban de mi mala pronunciación y acento al practicar algunas frases.
Me hacía sentir cariño y admiración cuando me decían sobre lo valiente que se tiene que ser para irse a otro país a hacer vida teniendo el mínimo de recursos.
Ver una nueva forma de celebrar el carnaval, de disfrutar de sus bonitas playas, me siento en un paraíso.
Tiene esta ciudad tantas cosas por conocer, la emoción de ver tantos lugares me hace recordar cuando de niño me decían mis padres que al día siguiente me llevarían a la playa, no podía dormir y cada 5 minutos salía del cuarto a ver la hora, esperando que amaneciera.
Montañas con formas espectaculares, monumentos, fuertes militares, parque nacionales, celebraciones tradicionales, en fin comenzaba este largo camino que aún no se detiene y aun con el tiempo que he pasado aquí mucho es lo que me falta por conocer, muchos es lo que me falta por disfrutar, camino que solo trae esfuerzo, superación y logro.
A country famous all over the world, I always heard of its cities, as well as its people and dances so cheerful full of good energy. In my case having this wonderful land so close I never had the idea of knowing it, obviously I was always an admirer of its achievements and recognitions.
Until a series of events in my life brought me here to Brazil, to the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro. When I arrived the first thing I could feel was the strength and energy of the place, incredible, but yes, I had arrived at my destination.
I arrived in very hot days in the month of October, it took me 4 days to get to the city, I made a long journey by land and halfway, I managed to take a flight, an exhausting trip, but full of excitement, the idea of starting a new stage was splendid, with previous attempts, all failed, but finally it happened.
I had made a final decision in this matter and I would not change it.
My country of origin is a country with hot weather in some months of the year, I thought it would be something similar, that I was prepared for the summer, but not to imagine the heat was of a higher level, and I am not exaggerating.
Fortunately, I adapted in a few days, so I began to learn the language with the coexistence with its inhabitants, with the sharing of the day to day, besides making friends from other countries, listening to their life stories that brought them to Brazil and also told me about their life and country of origin, I felt very well received by this charming people, who gave me their support and patience, taught me about their incredible cuisine, a delight, their traditions, such as Easter and the feast of the month of June, something new to me, only love, smiles and open arms to express their welcome to me.
Learning their language was a challenge, it was not only the problem of trying to pronounce correctly which was difficult for me, but to use words that I learned all my life, that in Spanish are incorrect, here they are used as part of their language, a challenge that was overcome little by little with each passing day.
In a short time, I began to enjoy their food, to know the main transportation routes, and already with documents in hand plus a basic Portuguese, the construction of this project began.
As in any project the financial part is important, so I dedicated all my time to look for a job, a hard task in my situation but not impossible. The opportunity presented itself and it was welcome.
An intense work activity, I confess that the fatigue was nothing compared to my satisfaction.
Taking that job motivated me even more to learn their language, as my coworkers enjoyed my bad pronunciation and accent when practicing some phrases.
It made me feel affection and admiration when they would tell me how brave you have to be to go to another country to make a living with minimal resources.
To see a new way of celebrating the carnival, to enjoy its beautiful beaches, I feel like I am in paradise.
This city has so many things to know, the excitement of seeing so many places makes me remember when as a child my parents used to tell me that the next day they would take me to the beach, I could not sleep and every 5 minutes I would leave the room to check the time, waiting for the sun to rise.
Mountains with spectacular shapes, monuments, military forts, national parks, traditional celebrations, in short, I began this long road that still does not stop and even with the time I have spent here much is what I have yet to know, many is what I have yet to enjoy, a road that only brings effort, overcoming and achievement.
