WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE FROM YOU

Have reverence for God, and obey his commands, because this is all that
we were created for. Ecclesiastic 12:13

Our God is the kind of Father who takes great delight in it when his children faithfully observe and follow his rules. Studying the Old Testament books in which God spoke directly to the Israelites reveals that God blessed those who followed his laws.

Consider Abraham's walk with God as an illustration. When God first put him to the test by telling him to leave his home and go to a place he'd show him later as a possession, Abraham did not doubt God but instead moved on as God had instructed. The Bible told us that he started from Haran, as the Lord had told him to do; and Lot went with him. (Genesis 12:4,5). Afterward, we see how God favoured him for listening to his
instructions.

This also applies to our period and era right now. Being obedient to God is the best way to receive his rewards. When we have reverence for God, it is much simpler for us to abide by the rules that he has laid forth for us. When we give in to our human nature rather than listening to what God has to teach us, we make ourselves enemies of God. The Bible also teaches that those who obey their human upbringing are incapable of pleasing God. (Rom 8:8). Sin is what ultimately leads to death, and it is the product of the wicked human nurturing that causes us to sin. Therefore, we have to exercise caution with regard to the manner we go about living our lives here on earth. When our text of study (Ecclesiastic 12:13) commanded us to have regard for God, the writer Solomon intended this to signify that we should seek and obey
God with a sincere heart. When you live for this world rather than for
God, you are spiritually dead, and so it is impossible for you to earn
God's approval.

If you call yourself a child of God, you have an obligation to imitate
Christ and live your life in the same way that He did. Sinful and lustful
pursuits are incompatible with being a genuine child of God; you cannot
have it both ways. Because God is holy, he desires for us to be holy as
well. Those who wish to approach God must be clean of any
transgressions.

You Are spiritually dead if you allow the spirit that controls those who
disobey God to lead you. At this point, you will follow the world's evil
way and will live according to your natural selfish desire, doing whatever
suits the wishes of your body and mind.
But if you will acknowledge this and turn back to God; God’s mercy is so
abundant, and his love for us is so great that he is willing to accept you
and make you whole again because of the grace his son Jesus Christ has
brought for us.

Consider the situation of Moses, who was otherwise exemplary in his
devotion to God and the welfare of the Israelites, but who was
ultimately denied entry into the land of promise because of his disobedience in the wilderness of Zin.
Let's read the passage .
The Lord said to Moses, “Go up the Abarim Mountains and look out over
the land that I am giving to the Israelites. After you have seen it, you
will die, as your brother Aaron did, because both of you rebelled against
my command in the wilderness of Zin.

When the whole community complained against me at Meribah, you refused to acknowledge my holy
power before them.” (Meribah is the spring at Kadesh in the wilderness
of Zin.)

This demonstrates that following God's rules is very important to him,
and he does not take any chances with disobedience. So, if a great
leader like Moses was punished for his disobedience, what hope do you
and I have? If you have heard this truthful message and still choose not
to accept and obey it, what possible justification do you have on this
final day?

Take a look at this scripture of the Bible...1 Peter 1:14,15and 16
.... 14 Be obedient to God and do not allow your lives to be shaped
by those desires you had when you were still ignorant. 15 Instead, be
holy in all that you do, just as God who called you is holy. 16 The scripture
says, “Be holy because I am holy.”...

It is important to note that obedience and holiness attract God's love
and favour. This is true because the Bible testifies that those who obey
God's Commandments live in union with God and God lives in union
with them. 1 John 3:24

When you obey God's commands and do what pleases Him, then
you can be sure to ask God anything and you will receive it.

And with that, let me present to you the climax and culmination of
the whole thing, give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and live
self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, as we wait for the
blessed Day we hope for when the glory of our great God and Saviour
Jesus Christ will appear. Thus, fear the Lord and keep his
