I've never liked watching animated movies in the cinema, well since I was an adult, however what I do is watch them all on TV when they come out because I find them extremely funny movies that through simple plots without many complicated elements let us explore very good stories that are fantastically seasoned with a lot of comic situations and characters that transcend the plot for how great they are. I say this because a couple of days ago I was resting with my son so we decided to watch The Good Dinosaur and the truth is I love it, it is a fun and entertaining movie that has a learning value perfectly developed to convey a great message to children.

The Good Dinosaur is a film that is visually made in a wonderful way with details perfectly created to build a really incredible and fun cave age environment, where we constantly come across those elements that remind us a lot of the time where dinosaurs and other beasts were the ones who commanded nature. The plot of this film introduces us to a family of long-necked dinosaurs that live on a farm growing corn, a peculiar family made up of parents and a trio of children where the most prominent is a small dinosaur that has serious trust problems, a small dinosaur dominated by fear, Arlo. The film focuses on the journey that Arlo must make to reunite with his family after a terrible storm takes him away from the farm and kills his father, something that apart from saddening the young dinosaur leads him to get lost a lot and have no idea how to survive alone.

The story takes place under that atmosphere of discovery and exploration where we will see the little dinosaur travel and find all sorts of things on his way to reunite with his family, however our young dinosaur will not have to make this journey alone because at the beginning of this chaotic journey will become friends with a super wild human child who welcomes as his pet and with whom he decides to form a beautiful friendship that leads to both take care of each other and watch over the life of the other. In general the plot is something typical, we will see how the course of the trip our dinosaur-human duo will be finding a lot of challenges and characters that will make their trip more fun and sometimes more dangerous, but in the end will serve as a key element for both strengthen their character and create their own path of life.

Undoubtedly what I liked most about this film were the characters, because both reflect a reality that torments many children and young people who are constantly forced to face situations for which they are not prepared, children and young people who are forced to take responsibilities that do not correspond to them at an early age, here we see how important it is to deal with fear subtly without rushing the times because when we rush to face complicated situations we can generate more damage than necessary. The great message of this film is how to recover and be brave, how to take those things that keep us from being totally happy and use them as motivation to be better. Throughout the minutes we see how Arlo relies on his wild human friend to face his fears and become the best version of himself, a young dinosaur capable of committing his body to help others.

Without a doubt this is not the movie with the most creative plot, but it is a very funny movie that through atypical characters manages to create a message around the personal journey of discovery of two friends who will gradually find the true meaning of their lives, evolving and strengthening each other to overcome all kinds of challenges. In general this is a typical animated film where the jokes are great and are complemented by incredible animations where we see fantastic gestures in the characters, the visual part has never been a problem for these films, because rarely the animations are bad, however something that I felt missing and that could have changed the tone of the film was the inclusion of a better soundtrack, the music and musical effects are somewhat weak, we almost do not see constant use of that element that many animated films use to give more strength to the animations.
