[ENG-SPN] Aragon Storks / Cigüeñas de Aragón

Aragon, there is no doubt, is a land of impossible contrasts, worthy of admiration, where the traveler can find themselves, from paradises such as the Piedra monastery and its incredible surroundings, to arid and unproductive deserts, such as the unfortunate Monegros. A detail that, in addition, can also be applied to its historical architecture and to some styles, with marked differences, that also make Aragon the capital, above all, of two antagonistic but common styles over time, which, each one for its own sake, Separated, they constitute a treasure to discover: the Romanesque and the Mudejar.

It was precisely in the superb Mudejar towers, domes and bell towers of the monumental cathedral of Tarazona, which, like Zaragoza or Calatayud, is another of the monumental capitals of this unique Art, where I had the opportunity to meet again, at the beginning of last month of February, with those showy and cheerful birds, the storks, which, faithful to their appointment with tradition, returned for the festival of San Blas, to return to occupy their elaborate nests in them, increasing even more, if possible, their monumental beauty.

Aragón, qué duda cabe, es una tierra de contrastes imposibles, digna de admiración, donde el viajero puede encontrarse, desde paraísos como el monasterio de Piedra y su increíble entorno, hasta áridos e improductivos desiertos, como los desafortunados Monegros. Detalle, que, además, puede aplicarse también a su arquitectura histórica y a unos estilos, con marcadas diferencias, que hacen, también de Aragón, la capitalidad, sobre todo, de dos estilos antagónicos pero comunes en el tiempo, los cuales, cada uno por separado, constituyen todo un tesoro a descubrir: el Románico y el Mudéjar.

Precisamente fue en las soberbias torres, cimborrios y campanarios mudéjares de la monumental catedral de Tarazona, que, como Zaragoza o Calatayud, es otra de las monumentales capitalidades de este singular Arte, donde tuve la ocasión de volver a coincidir, a principios del pasado mes de febrero, con esas vistosas y alegres aves, las cigüeñas, las cuales, fieles a su cita con la tradición, retornaron por la festividad de San Blas, para volver a ocupar sus elaborados nidos en ellas, aumentando aún más, si cabe, su belleza monumental.
