[ENG-SPN] Guardians against promiscuity / Guardianes contra la promiscuidad

In the ancient Greek Olympus, promiscuity was one of the attributes that characterized, above all, Zeus, father of the gods, to the point that, due to the impulses of an overflowing livid, he was seeding the world of mortals with an offspring that was characterized by its peculiar characteristics and due to them, they were considered as demigods. Basically, something similar also happened with other peoples, such as the Semites, in one of whose references, the Bible itself, already speaks of these strange relationships -as Phillip José Farmer, a theoretician of the science-fiction, in works like 'The Lovers'- when a group of 'angels' felt hopelessly attracted to the beauty of the daughters of men, copulating with them, as a result of which, the tradition was covered with the fabulous legends of the giants that once populated the world.

But going back to that metaphorical soap opera, which, after all and studying the Greek myths, we could come to suppose that it was, in reality, Olympus, the most remarkable thing, perhaps, resides in the way in which the men of that time -including the great thinkers- saw in this beautiful animal, the peacock and the hundreds of singular oculi that make up its beautiful tail, the guardian vehicle with which the jealous wife of Zeus, Hera, used to watch over and as far as possible, to put a stop to the endless love affairs of a husband, who, surely, millennia later, was taken as an example by singular ladyboys, such as the popular Giacomo Casanova.

En el antiguo Olimpo griego, la promiscuidad era uno de los atributos que caracterizaba, sobre todo, a Zeus, padre de los dioses, hasta el punto de que, debido a los impulsos de una lívido desbordada, fue sembrando el mundo de los mortales de una descendencia que se caracterizaba por sus peculiares características y debido a ellas, eran considerados como semidioses. En el fondo, algo parecido ocurría también con otros pueblos, como los semitas, en una de cuyas referencias, la propia Biblia, ya se habla de esas relaciones extrañas -como las definiría en el siglo XX, Phillip José Farmer, un teórico de la ciencia-ficción, en obras como ‘Los amantes’- cuando un grupo de ‘ángeles’ se sintió irremediablemente atraído por la belleza de las hijas de los hombres, copulando con ellas, resultado de lo cual, la tradición se cubrió con las fabulosas leyendas de los gigantes que poblaron una vez el mundo.

Pero volviendo a esa metafórica telenovela, que, después de todo y estudiando los mitos griegos, podríamos a llegar a suponer que fue, en realidad, el Olimpo, lo más notable, quizás, resida en la forma en la que los hombres de aquella época -incluidos los grandes pensadores- vieron en este hermoso animal, el pavo real y los cientos de singulares óculos que conforman su bella cola, el vehículo guardián que la celosa esposa de Zeus, Hera, utilizó para vigilar y en la medida de lo posible, poner freno a las interminables aventuras amorosas de un marido, al que, seguramente, milenios después, tomaron como ejemplo singulares donjuanes, como el popular Giacomo Casanova.
