[ENG-SPN] Medieval doors: the silence of other times / Puertas medievales: el silencio de otros tiempos

There in the deep Soria, close to Montejo and also to that enigmatic bastion of dreams and legends, which is the ancient troglodyte city of Tiermes, part of whose history shares the spotlight with the famous adventurer, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the Cid Campeador, the superb medieval gates of another town, fallen into disrepair with the inexorable evolution of time, invites the traveler to voluntarily let themselves be seduced by daydreaming and speculate, at length, with the fascinating enigmas of the past.

Enigmas that range from the traces of cave art that dates back to the dawn of time, passing through the superb Roman roads that linked Sigüenza with Oxma and Medinaceli with Tiermes, to the presence of relevant figures in the History of Spain, such as the Duke of Alba, making these doors, today melancholic frames freed from the wood, but discreet witnesses of a world lost forever in the rivers of a memory that barely hints at the importance they once had.

Allá por la Soria profunda, cercano a Montejo y también a ese enigmático bastión de sueños y leyendas, que es la milenaria ciudad troglodita de Tiermes, parte de cuya historia comparte protagonismo con el célebre aventurero, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid Campeador, las soberbias puertas medievales de otro pueblo, venido a menos con el devenir inexorable de los tiempos, invita al viajero a dejarse seducir voluntariamente por la ensoñación y especular, largo y tendido, con los fascinantes enigmas del pasado.

Enigmas que van, desde las huellas de un arte rupestre que se remonta al alba de los tiempos, pasando por las soberbias calzadas romanas que unían Sigüenza con Oxma y Medinaceli con Tiermes, hasta la presencia de personajes relevantes de la Historia de España, como el Duque de Alba, haciendo de estas puertas, hoy melancólicos marcos liberados del maderamen, pero testigos discretos de un mundo perdido para siempre en los ríos de una memoria que apenas deja entrever la importancia que tuvieron un día.
