[ENG-SPN] The myth of Samson / El mito de Sansón

The old story of Samson, whose actions can be compared to Hercules, since to the credit of both figures the looting or death of a fierce lion, is also, comparatively speaking, a story of submission, where the female figure, represented by Delilah, in this case, weaves the seductive argument, where the woman reveals her best natural endowment: intelligence.

A theme that, after all, is also beautifully suggested in the Major Arcana number eleven of the Tarot, which despite being called The Force, does not exert any physical violence, but, on the contrary, shows the skilful female dominating a fierce lion, without the need to mistreat it, making good the saying that it is better skill than strength.

La vieja historia de Sansón, entre cuyas acciones se puede comparar con Hércules, pues en el haber de ambos figura el desquijamiento o muerte de un fiero león, es también, comparativamente hablando, una historia de sumisión, donde la figura femenina, representada por Dalila, en este caso, teje el argumento seductivo, donde la mujer pone de manifiesto su mejor dote natural: la inteligencia.

Tema, que al fin y al cabo, viene bellamente sugerido también en el Arcano Mayor número once del Tarot, que a pesar de llamarse La Fuerza, no ejerce ninguna violencia física, sino que, por el contrario, muestra a la hábil fémina dominando a un fiero león, sin necesidad de maltratarlo, haciendo bueno el refrán que dice que más vale maña que fuerza.
