My Experience In Hive Blog. The Need For Me To Invest In Hive As A Newbie Explained
Greetings Hive Community and members of OCD members. I will begin by showing my appreciation to @collinz for delegating 50HP to keep me posting. Posting daily was actually difficult for me, he generously supported me with this Hive Power.
What is investment in Hive?
Many of us think that investing in Hive is all about buying Hive from one of the exchange platform like Coinbase, Binance or Blocktrade to power up. But, it goes beyond this, even though that is also one part of investment one can do to grow very fast. To my thought, investment can be viewed in two folds: 1. real capital investment and 2.Non capital investment, that's the use of Proof of Brain(PoB)
What is Capital Investment In Hive?
The system of building Hive community or ecosystem requires pumping a lot of money to pay content producers or Hive Authors Hive Developers and Hive Witnesses for their effort engineered for sustainable development. So, there is the need for either, daily, weekly, monthly or annual budgeting to pay for all these category of workers. This explains the reason a lot of money from the reward poll are shared in percentages to Authors, Curators, Witnesses and Developers when you read:
There are also Gurus who have invested their resources to build Hive Ecosystem. They Don't Actually write contents, but they sponsor content creators with their income on good projects and serious Hivians to engage the community. Some of these category of people are Whales and Teams of Sponsors in Hive.Whales are one category of Hive supporters who have acquired a lot of money and have converted to Huge Hive Power supporting the Community with curation of good contents and projects helping to build Hive Communities.
Non Capital Investment
This is what most content creators especially Newbies do. By sharing their contents in Hive Community to be rewarded with upvotes from Whales 🐋 and individual Curators in their respective Community. This needs a lot of skills and proof of brain(PoB) if one really want his/her post to be valued in Hive Blockchain. What we realize is that, a lot of Newbies see Hive to be very expensive, since it require Newbies who have meagre resource credit (RC) to be able to post to the site of Hive.But, we must bear in mind that, Hive is a Serious Decentralized Community who want Content creators with : Devoted time, Good writers, Commitment, Consistency, Project inclined and have passion for the Community and above all, are ready and willing to work hard to build Hive Ecosystem together. That's my thought when Newbies begin to think in that manner. The platform allows everyone to join for free, but one must be committed to share quality content in order to be engaged.
What to invest as Newbies with no capital to power up?
As I have already given the overview, we can invest from scratch, that is, from zero Hive power to Huge power through many strategies. Using myself as example, I joined Hive with no Hive power, but now I am holding 8 Hive power which help me to post content in Hive Community. So, what account for one to be engaged while you do not have income to power up? Below are my thoughts:
1. Have time and patience:
For any Newbie who wish to work in Hive diligently and get good reward must be time conscious. Newbies must get time to read how Hive works, what can you do to gain attention from Whales and other Curators who have enough power.One must devote time to put together great content and even the kind of posts that readers would love to read.Time moves with patience, since Newbies must have that waiting period to get the attention of the Community and individual he/she has chosen to work with. Because, it takes time for one to adjust and be recognized in a new Community he/she has joined. Even though, you must be a good content creator, but you may not get the attention of your group at the initial stage, yet, you should press on with your good work.
Sometimes, the Community Admins and Mods may be testing your endurance and how well you are committed in working for the community in times of bear markets and crisis.So, your contents may be lacking with upvotes. As Newbies, you shouldn't lose hope, since one day, your star ⭐ is going to shine for you to get recognition for your good work.
2. Consistency & Community Engagement;
One of way of building a Community is being consistent, that is to say; being committed and giving more impact to the Community. Your consistency would expose you more for the Admins and Mods to see your activeness in the Community. In Hive and other companies, consistency and engagement is viewed base on the number of times you post,upvote, comment and give replies or feedbacks to relevant posts trooping in the Community.You may be good content creator alright, but your inconsistency and low engagement may affect the Community growth and achievement. In well to do Community like Hive, we need a lot of members who are committed to work harder sharing posts everyday and keeping the Community very busy. As Newbies, the more we familiarize with our respective Community and even explore beyond our Community,the more we are recognized and increase our reputation in the Hive Community.
Consistency and Community engagement brings about staunch team build up. Teamwork can be a great communication within Hive Blog and outside Hive Blog. Outside Hive Blog, members can organize meetings, meetups and conferences taking initiatives to promote Hive Community. All these are good strategies to support build Hive Ecosystem.
3.Embarking on Good Contents, Projects & Promotions:
It is obvious that Hive is respected and descent Community, hence, we need to maintain these integrity to great heights. The best thing that we should all happy with is Hive Community being Decentralized Blockchain. The Community does not impose strict laws as we know many Blockchain Communities have been doing to their individual members. As far as the Hive Blockchain allows all content to be shared in the site doesn't mean we can just post any irrelevant contents. In reality, most posts that receive most attention and get higher upvotes are posts with good content. As a Newbie, how do you check ✅ relevant posts in the Community. This is easily seen by going to the trending posts in the Community to read the content shared. You would find that from organization of content, number of words, grammar construction, pictures, markdowns and editing, everything is perfectly garnished.
Hive Community has good heart ❤️ to support real and concrete projects and promotions that are embarked by Hivians. I mentioned real and concrete projects because individuals can fake out projects just to gain fame and be rewarded. There are a lot of scammers around always looking for ways to get money of projects they have not actually worked for it. That is why Hive has laid down project procedure for individuals who wish to embark on projects.
Meetups and Conferences are all promotions that Newbies can be invest his or her time to gain attention in the Hive Blockchain. One important benefits of promotion in this way is to get the attention of people who haven't heard about Hive Community.
Conclusion:
In this post, I demonstrated that even though we can invest real capital as Newbies if we have income to do so. But there are other ways too we can invest in Hive without necessarily having money. I covered some ways of doing this as time & patience, consistency & engagement, doing some projects and promotion. I hope, Newbies would find this post useful.
