My Sunday at Dominion Church: A Mix of Fashion, Faith, and Unexpected Hunger

This past Sunday felt somehow different. I didn’t plan for anything big, I just wanted to go to church, enjoy service and come back home, but the whole experience turned out to be a bit more interesting than I expected.

Let me start from the outfit; because honestly, that alone had its own journey.

So, I didn’t buy the outfit as a full set. I bought each piece at different times, for different reasons, and somehow everything just matched beautifully. The white trouser I wore is actually still very new, and I’ve been keeping it for a clean, simple look. The top I wore; it’s this colourful, long-sleeve piece I’ve had for a while now, and I’ve worn it a couple of times before. It’s comfy and always gives this bright, confident vibe.

Now the shoes. those shiny covered heels? I got them over a year ago, but I’ve only worn them like twice. I don’t even know why I hardly wear them; maybe because I’m always saving them for “the right moment.” The bag I carried kind of just blended with the whole outfit without me planning too much. And the wig? That one was a birthday gift from my elder sister, and Sunday was my first time wearing it. Honestly, the full look came together better than I imagined.

Normally, I always eat breakfast before going to church; always. I know it sounds weird to some people, especially for Sundays, but I’m just used to it. But this Sunday, I didn’t sleep well the night before, so even though my alarm rang on time, I was super sleepy and weak. I just couldn’t jump out of bed like I normally do. I ended up lying back for “just 10 more minutes,” and next thing, I was almost late for church.

In the middle of rushing, I completely forgot breakfast. I was actually very hungry, but I didn’t want to miss church completely. So, I dressed up quickly and left; stomach empty, but head high.

Service was beautiful, as usual. Dominion Church always knows how to make you feel at home and still call you higher. I missed the beginning part, sadly, but what I caught really touched me. I was so glad I still made it. There’s something about being in that environment, even when your day starts off rough; it just resets everything.

I actually didn’t plan to take any pictures. I just wanted to go, come back and maybe write a short post. But somehow, after service, I couldn’t stop thinking about how the outfit came together so nicely. I told myself, “Let me just take one or two photos, for memory sake.” And I did. And they didn’t even come out bad at all.

So yeah, that’s how my Sunday went. From almost oversleeping and skipping breakfast, to rocking an outfit I didn’t even plan fully, to leaving church feeling lighter than I came. I guess that’s what Sundays are for; a bit of everything, mixed with grace.
