IndiaUnited Contest: What is your favourite food and why?

Food is not merely a means to appease hunger. It may have memories, feelings and comfort. Jollof Rice is my ultimate favourite food among all the delicious meals I've tasted in my years.

I love Jollof rice because it is not just good to eat but it has also been a part of many good times in my life. The combination of rice, tomatoes, peppers, onions and spices is a delicious and memorable experience. Every time I get a whiff of Jollof Rice, I get excited because I know that I am going to enjoy a wonderful meal.

I really enjoy Jollof Rice for one reason - it's so versatile! Can be eaten with fried chicken, fish, meat, turkey, plantains, salad and even vegetables. Still, no matter how it's made it always tastes great. The party Jollof Rice is a favorite of mine in particular, as it gives a smoky taste to the rice that is different from the normal way of rice preparation.

Many fond memories come to mind when I think about this food. Jollof Rice has been a staple at family reunions, birthdays, weddings and holidays. I recall sitting with my family members, laughing, sharing stories and eating yummy plates of food together. Those moments made for memories for me that will never be forgotten and will make the meal even more meaningful.

The other reason is that Jollof Rice is my favourite food because it makes me feel united. By its very nature, when it is made, people gravitate to each other to eat and enjoy one another's company. It's now used as a symbol of joy and celebration in many houses. Jollof Rice is so delicious that even if I have a bad day, a plate of it brings me my best day.

In addition to its delicious taste, Jollof Rice is a constant reminder of the importance of family, friendship, and the joys of life. It symbolizes the culture, tradition and shared experiences that bring people together. That's what makes this my favorite food and it will probably always be for me!
