Perfect Killer? Criticism of Skyrim's difficulty

One of the most fun things about playing role playing games like Skyrim is being able to customize your character as you want, being able to be a simple warrior, mage assassin or even a combination of all these, in Skyrim you can do this. In this opportunity I wanted to make myself an assassin role, but exploiting all the damage you can do, testing the legendary difficulty.

Skill tree

For the character's skill tree it was quite clear to me that to exploit the character's damage it is necessary to take it into account:

  • The damage per skill: This damage refers to the maximum level (100/100) you can have in a skill, this combined with the points you add to that skill will increase the percentage damage you do to the creatures.

image.png

  • Combination of professions: In Skyrim the main professions play a key role to exploit your damage, in this case combining enchantment, blacksmithing and alchemy you can do the maximum damage allowed in the game (without the use of tricks), this combined with the enchantments of chaos as well as electricity would make you a deadly damage machine, without taking into account the poison you can get to do an increased damage of more than 160 points (which is enough) and if you use potions (strengthen archery) would do a pretty big damage (even being in legendary difficulty).

image.png

  • Boost the enchantments with destruction: another way to boost the damage of elements you put on the weapon is the branch of destruction, placing these perks can significantly increase the damage to the weapon and the enchantments placed on it.

Skyrim legendary difficulty

I think one of the flaws that Skyrim has in terms of difficulty is that the enemies become a damage sponge, meaning that you can easily be starting a game and face a wolf or a simple thief as if it were a boss, not to mention the different races that you can find along the way that you get to attack just because. Although it is not bad a little difficulty to not put things so easy, I think the difficulty in Skyrim has a single purpose, to turn enemies into damage sponges to delay you as much as possible in your progress in the game, and feel that the enemies you face are a real challenge and may become so, however, the mechanics of these bosses or enemies on the map will not be affected in the least.

image.png

image.png

image.png

Not everything is bad, once you get to complete your character you become a killing machine, a boss, a storm in the eyes of your enemies because you can easily kill them quickly (even on the highest difficulty), on the one hand all your efforts to create your character and develop it correctly fulfills its purpose but on the other hand you realize that the legendary difficulty only served to delay you in your goal, in the end by joining the main professions of the game and combining them, you become a God regardless of the difficulty you are on.

image.png

image.png

image.png

At the beginning of the game there are three key things that helped me to progress quickly and further enhance the character, first was the farm which when I acquired it passively produced septims which I was withdrawing as I finished training a skill, The sanguine rose which provides a great ally when facing an enemy and the chaos enchantment which is the best enchantment in Skyrim in terms of elemental damage providing a 50% chance that each element does a certain amount of damage to the target, this damage is increased if you have perks in destruction and in the enchantment branch.

image.png

Another of the things that are quite broken in the game is the theft, since with this you can spend septims and recover them again (training sessions) quickly raising the skills of your character and another of the things that are SUPER BROKEN is telekinesis which together with the profession of enchantment you can level up as many times as you want.

image.png

In summary, Skyrim is a game that necessarily (not to say strictly) has to be played with a ROL character, taking into account the design of this same and making vulnerable to certain characteristics that this character has. Otherwise when you raise it to the maximum level all the enemies you would kill them as if you were in normal difficulty, (even being in legendary), on the other hand, Skyrim is still a very addictive and entertaining game that with the right difficulty and taking into account the role that you are going to create you can get a good hours of entertainment to the game, thank you very much for stopping by here do not forget to Vote, Comment and Share until a next adventure.

Definitely playing Skyrim on legendary difficulty becomes an art, because of everything we have to learn, research and even practice to master and create our perfect character. And if there is something that I agree with what you mention here is that in Skyrim (especially in master and legendary difficulty) is the need to play following specific roles in order to have an optimal personake and not suffer too much with the damage sponges that can be especially the boses.

Excellent post, pal, I hope to see more post of you about Skyrim (y)

Cheers.

thanks for your comment :) I think the beauty of this game is to have the freedom to create the role that you like and enjoy what you do, whether it's a maximum difficulty or just making your character a farmer, maybe later you will be the hand of destiny of a thieves guild or the liberator who makes the Thalmor run :)

It really forces you to optimise your strategies, some might hate the difficulty in this game but for others it is well balanced. Good analysis!

Something I really enjoy about these games is what you mention, at the beginning you are very weak but with the passing of hours and missions your character gets better and if you make certain combinations of items and powers you become really indestructible, you see a direct advance between the time you spend and the attack strength you get. I played a bit of skyrim but I left it because I felt very lost with all the freedom that one has haha

that tends to happen a lot, after you are very strong you have a whole world to explore but, why? do quests live them become even stronger and be a vigilante or the bearer of all destinies ? there is too much freedom xD you can simply be a farmer or free the world from evil.

I love this game, but I don't know if I could handle playing Legendary mode for long. I easily get stressed out by deaths in games like this.

hahahaha we're the same, that's why I decided to put the character full before doing anything, but I think I went too far xD

I love the idea of min-maxing professions for damage output! Besides Smithing, Alchemy, and Enchanting, I never play this game but looks awesome.
