Amanamo (you do well o) ft Freke Umoh cover// by @julti1985
Hi Hivians!!!
It's another wonderful week of #hiveopenmicweek152 with a great theme of "traditional music" from our spotlight artist @bertrayo.
Traditional music has a great inspiration that keeps the atmosphere cool. Singing traditional songs makes one take a deep understanding and also one will be able to flow with the song because of the mystery in the music.
I enjoy singing traditional songs because of the power and inspiration in them. Am a Yoruba woman one of the major tribes in Nigeria but I love and enjoy singing in another language due to my deep understanding of singing using a dialect.
The song I will be presenting is"Akwa-Ibom" language not in my language but I love every word of this song. Though I couldn't find the lyrics online I wrote the lyrics myself with my little understanding of the lines in the song. The title of the song is "Amana mo"(you do well o)ft Freke Umoh.
The lyrics of the song
Amana mo
Amana mo
Amana mo o
Amana mo
Amana mo sosongo
Amana mo
Amana mo
Amana mo o
Ete eyen di die Amana
Amana mo Sosongo

I am not a yoruba but I really love yoruba songs. I love it because of many things but more because of the talking drum which you guys use to make the song very lively and interesting. Infact for my love of it, I bought a talking drum and have been looking for a way to learn it. I have learnt a little from YouTube but I still need a feasible teacher to do better.
I love what you brought here dear, you are doing well, yoruba woman.
Thanks, my dear friend. I know of many people that love to sing yoruba songs though they are not yoruba. But whenever I ask them why they love yoruba songs they always say that the song used to carry inspiration. Anyways the song I sang is not my dialect but I love singing this song. the song is Calabar language. Singing traditional songs will give you the benefit of learning other people's languages. When you sing another language you will also go for the interpretation for more understanding. I cherish your comment always.
Yea I see it and you did quite well singing it.
Weldone dear
Thank you
You are.welcome

What a beautiful song, friend @ julti1985. I think the language thing is secondary. This melody transmits sweetness and peace and I like the interpretation you did of it. I enjoyed your presentation. I wish you much success at the event. Thanks for sharing.

God indeed has done us well. You sang the song so well that someone would easily think you are from Akwa-Ibom.
Hace a great week ahead. 🙌
