Matti's Obsession with Stars and Lights
Matti's first time in the mall went well so after another few days of staying in Cebu City, we went to Robinsons Galleria and we were glad we did because Matti got a surprise for himself upon entering the mall.
The very first thing that has fascinated Matti was lights. Whenever we turn on our room's lights, he would be amazed and would shout. He can't say light but whenever we say light, we emphasize the letter t at the end thus, when he started talking, he refer it as "t". He would be saying .. t while pointing at the ceiling, t, while pointing at the series lights, t, while pointing to the Christmas tree and more.
Aside from that, he is also fascinated with stars. I can't remember the first time he had appreciated stars but he calls it "staw" as he can't pronounce the letter r yet.
So imagine how he was mesmerized when we entered Robinsons Galleria and he saw so many lights blinking here and there and then finding huge stars at their ground-floor where the Christmas tree display is located.
We brought him near the stars and he was shocked, he kept looking and staring them and he wouldn't speak or move. I told him there are lights and stars langga but he just stared and then after a few more minutes, he somehow regained his senses and went on running around like a mad man or child.
He can't contain his happiness, he went running from here and there waiving his hand like saying hi to every star. He kept on pointing on the stars, he kept saying staw and t. I found it cute I took a lot of photos. His father was just letting him run around, there were no other people at the area so it was safe. I was just happy seeing Matti like that.
Our main reason of coming to Robinsons is to buy a new Mac mini for my husband. While I do have a bucket list of things that I wanted to do while in Cebu City, he too had his own. But this was not our priority, our first priority was really to get our condo unit cleaned because it has been left without any cleaning since October of 2020. So it was already a year and according to my sister in law who visited our room, our aircondition has homed an ant village.
There's a store within Robinsons Galleria which sells Apple products and it is also the store where we usually buy apple items because it is not crowded unlike the other malls. What's great about this mall is the design. I love the pillars which have faux leaves and there's an iconic giant guitar at the ground floor.
Of course, we can't go here without taking a photo of Matti with that guitar. Again, I regret not making a selfie here. I missed the opportunity of having a family photo with it. Anyway, we have to get to our main agenda in coming here. We walked towards the shop which was just a few steps away.
We looked around the store, expectedly, there were no other customers. We were hopping from one device to another, from the laptop to the Mac mini to the other computers and we didn't realize, Matti was already sleeping!
Well, it looked like he got tired from all running earlier! His father just carried him the entire time while going around Power Mac. What I like here is that they don't really ask what you are here for, they would just allow you to check everything.
But we inquired from the customer service desk of our intention - a Mac Mini. The lady was very helpful and she was also glad to serve us. She told us there's only one unit left. Perfect! I guess it was really intended for us!
And so we took advantage of it although I told my husband it would be best if we'd get the Macbook Air instead because it is portable compared to the Mac Mini.
I almost persuaded my husband but there was no available stock for the Macbook Air so we thought, Mac Mini it is.
Two days after, we found out that the husband's company gave their five year club employees, those who had stayed with the company for at least five years some very nice bonus - digital items can be acquired with the amount of Php 50,000. Thus, my husband requested for a Macbook Air and he gave it to me! Lucky wife!
Going back, we were done with our business at Power Mac Center, it was already 11 in the morning and I told my husband that one of my bucket list is to visit a Daiso store. I am a Daiso fan. I didn't have an idea that Bohol already have a Daiso store during that time, I just learned it when we went home and passed by Alturas mall!
The husband can't do anything about it so we headed to the Daiso store. I don't have anything in mind to buy though, I just wanted to look around. I went inside with an aimless walk. I just want to see if there's anything that would interest me.
I went on a snake tour, from one aisle to another, looking into the shelves, eyes going up and down, left to right, are you also doing this while inside Daiso?
I somehow bumped into the utensils area and found this metal straw set. I always make milk tea at home and I don't have a metal straw so I decided to get one. This is for Mother Nature!
I went on and on and then found another interesting item - Popsicle Maker!
If you have a toddler who watches Cocomelon, you'd know that they have a song which is about making popsicles. Let me share with you a few lines of the song...
It's time for rainbow popsicle, yummy, yummy, colorful popsicle.

Enough of that song because whenever I hear Cocomelon songs, I tend to have it play again and again on my head. It's last song syndrome. And there's one time when my husband shared how Cocomelon songs had influenced him too, one time, he was cleaning his office and while he was wiping the tables, in his mind, he was singing Cocomelon's Clean Up Song! I found it very funny but this is so true! I bet most parents can relate!
After paying, we headed to the upper floor for lunch. And finally! A family groufie at the escalator. Matti had developed his love for escalators here, the next mall that we visited, he was hyper in riding the escalator, I'll save that for another article.
We decided to buy food and dine in here. We ate a few seafoods, lumpia and bola bola for Matti because he loves them. And we also had Thirsty, our favorite Buko Mango Shake of course!
Unfortunately, I didn't have any opportunity to take photos during lunch. It's just so hard to do that while feeding and running after a toddler who doesn't want to sit down. He wants to just move around, go from one table to another and it made us frustrated but that's life. We just have to smile and remember, this too shall pass! Matti will surely grow up and this habit, he too will out grow.
Anyway, his father decided to just carry him and not allow him to be on the ground again. We headed down to go home. We passed by the big Christmas tree again and it was just fascinating. I love how it was decorated!

But then again, Matti has his own ways of moving so he could go down. At the ground floor, his father can't anymore hold him as he was raising his hands and kicking. So we agreed to just let him walk. He wanted freedom!
So he walked this time and it was just a sweet moment looking at my husband and baby walking hand in hand. I can't help but take photographs of that moment. Matti was keeping up with his father's walking pace and he was happy that he could walk this time. He continued walking up to the parking area and we were proud that he was behaved this time around.
So let's see where's the next mall that Matti will explore! See you on the next one!

This is truly the magic of Christmas! Matti is adorable; and with all of his interest in stars and light, perhaps he will be an astronomer or astronaut in a few more years...?

Cutieeeeee. That "t" I bet would sound so good. So kyuuuuut 😆 Robinsons Galleria is one of the most elegant malls in Cebu. Especially their supermarket, looks so organized and classy. ❤️
