Pandemic Trip : Bohol To Cebu

bohol to cebu.jpeg

About a month ago, my husband, baby, and I traveled from Bohol to Cebu with the purpose of visiting our condo unit and celebrating grandma's 82nd birthday.

I wasn't able to share the experience here so I am going to somehow bring you with me as I reminisce about our trip. Most of the photos here are were taken on our smartphones as it was easier to use that when traveling.

Guindulman to Loon

Our plan was to travel from Guindulman to Tagbilaran City but since we were bringing our car, we inquired about the pricing over the phone and found out it costs double if we travel via Tagbilaran City to Cebu City plus, it takes longer while if we go with Loon to Argao, it would only cost us Php 1700+ and the trip would only last for two hours.

So we were at the Loon port at a very early time, the boarding area was very quiet, there were only two other passengers, it was still ten in the morning when we arrived so we still have a lot of time to wait. The port was new and clean so it felt safe.

The requirements include:

  • Vaccination Certificate
  • Valid ID
That's it. This is far more convenient compared to when we traveled last July.

Matti couldn't help himself but explore the place, he was walking here and there, even would try to go out of the boarding area. We also had lunch there since my parents insisted that we pack our own lunch so we don't have to go out and buy food.

We also appreciate that they had prepared the meal for us. My father cooked chicken adobo and our house helper made a quick garlic shrimp. Things got a little messy when we ate at the boarding area. Gladly, they have a comfort room and it had hand soap so all was well.

Loon, Bohol to Argao, Cebu

It was around noontime when we saw the barge was already docking and my husband hurried to go there so we can secure tickets. It took him a while so I decided to go out and just wait for him outside the boarding area. They got their Christmas tree up already. It has plastic bottles painted in green, red, and gold and used as their ornaments.

The boat schedule in Loon is not fixed, whenever the captain sees that the boat is already full, he'd command to go so we were already sailing before one in the afternoon while the scheduled trip usually is at three.

It's just a sitting type so we were trying to entertain Matti not to go around as there were other passengers too. I tried so hard for him to stay put but toddlers are just hard-headed. He would be moving from here and there, asking for the umbrella and all. I had tried my best to get him to sleep too but it was only after an hour that he showed signs of sleepiness.

A few minutes past two, we already saw the restaurant in Argao, that's in the second photo above.

Protocols included that we must get our requirements checked at the port once we get out. Our vehicle was not disinfected anymore, before, there was someone assigned to spray vehicles with disinfectants. Not this time around.

Argao, Cebu to Cebu City

From Argao, we have to travel for another two hours to reach Cebu City. It was in Carcar City when we got stuck in traffic. We have no idea why it was moving so slow but we managed to reach Cebu City at five and we headed directly to SM Seaside because we were already hungry.

Next blog article, I will be sharing Matti's first time to be inside the malls of Cebu City. When we were there in the city, children accompanied by fully vaccinated guardians or parents are already allowed to go inside.

Well cheers to an early departure, sounds that worked out in your favor. Is going by water the fastest/easiest/cheapest way between these two towns?

its two separate islands.. air would be the fastest but its too expensive and we can't bring our car..hehe
