They Are Playing Basketball Again After Two Years!
Finding stable internet access is hard back in our province so my husband and I decided to go to Tagbilaran City so he can work here. Thankfully, my brother has a house here in the city. We are staying here in the meantime until Saturday. We aren’t sure yet if we’ll go back by next week or if we should just stay in Guindulman because electricity has been restored there but only on the highway only but that’s already a good thing.
Early in the morning, we went outside, did a short walk in the neighborhood and it seemed like Matti loved it that he kept asking me to go out even at noontime. I did take him outside but for a very quick one.
By the afternoon after his nap time, that was around four, he asked again that to go out and since it was not hot anymore, we went together with Ate Jonalyn and his push car as I thought he would like to sit there but he didn’t want to instead, he just walked from the house to the park.
My brother’s house is in Camella Homes in Tagbilaran City and the neighborhood here is nice as kids can walk around or do biking, they have a playground too, a basketball court, and a swimming pool.
On the way, we stopped by some flowers, Walking with a toddler, our phasing is very slow but that’s okay, our goal was for him to just enjoy the walk.
We passed by some streets, Ravena, Perugia, etc. Then we reached the entrance to the kids’ playground. Back in February when we went here, the playground was like a jungle but today, it has been cleared, perhaps due as well to the typhoon. There were a few kids playing, Matti was not interested in anything so we headed to the basketball court and watch the men play.

We have to go take the back route where there’s a wide lawn and we could see some other kids running around and dogs too! We have to move some tree branches which were affected by the typhoon so Matti could pass the pathway.
The basketball court seemed okay but there was one light post that had fallen down, a lot of trees around were down too, this was the effect of the Typhoon. I am not sure when did the court reopened but it has been closed for perhaps two years due to COVID-19 and it just feels nice that it is lively again.

A few steps away is the swimming pool. The pool is filled with water and we thought it might be open too but to our dismay, it was actually filled with rainwater. It was so full and it's colored green so perhaps algae and others are now residing in that water. I hope it can be cleaned soon because mosquitos might also propagate there.
Homeowners who have dogs were outside too! Matti was not afraid of the dogs and he even went near them. The dogs were truly friendly too, they kept wagging their tails.
We reached Parco Verde and we found a lot of young people sitting and charging their phones, I asked if that was free charging and they nodded. I am glad there’s a free charging station here but I guess that’s only open in the afternoons.
I decided we go home because it was already an hour from when we started our walk. I sweat a few but not too much but Matti was very happy, he wants to run but I just have to hold him as there were already vehicles.
We have to also eat some before we go home. Matti asked for a mamon. The push car also became our storage because it has a storage box. I actually like this part of the car. I placed in there some chips, a water bottle, mamon, and my phone. Isn't it amazing?
It was a great time being out and I hope we can do this again with his father soon.
