Toy Rack Storage - A Shopee Find for Baby's Toys

On the 10th of October, I ordered a couple of things from an online shop called shopee. I bet most of you are aware of what this shop is so since there were a couple of free shipping vouchers and discounts, I thought it would be the best time to order the items I had been keeping in my cart for months. One of them is a toy storage rack.

Why I wanted one is because my Matti has a lot of toys and his playpen has been in an area next to our bed but it's too tight right now due to the numerous toys inside. I had adjusted that playpen to only fit the small area next to our bed so I plan on making the playpen to its full width in the center of our room and then the toy rack will be used both for toy storage and book display too!

As of this writing, Matti is already 14 months old and I wanted him to already be exposed to books and educational stuff. I started showing him some animal and letter flashcards, he is responsive however, he is easily bored when I present that to him. So, with a clear display of books and other educational items, I am hoping that he'll develop a love for reading books.

The order arrived a few days ago, it was quick, out of all the orders made on that day, I received this first. Let's assemble it!

My husband and I loves unboxing and so does Matti. He had somehow developed the like to unpack or unbox anything so when this arrived, he was also moving around here and there and was very curious about the package.

There was a thick bubble wrap in the box but inside, there was none, I just hoped that the items inside the box were not damaged as there were still spaces inside.

But, upon checking up, the items seemed to be okay.

The parts, we took everything from the box and laid them on the floor so we can check everything if there were missing parts or damaged ones. So far, so good, the sides, the steel tubes, plastic containers looked fine.

There were also smaller parts that were not placed in plastic so they were the ones which

made those banging sounds as we were carrying the box earlier from the courier.

Upon looking at the parts, it was easy to figure out how this is assembled. There was a paper guide though but we were not looking at it anymore as this looked very straightforward and easy! The only challenge we had was how to stop Matti from playing with the steel tubes. When the parts were taken out, he got all his eyes to those tubes and were hitting everything from the box, to our floor.

This boy was just unstoppable, he'd even cry when we take the tubes off his hand! We tried explaining to him that this is not for playing but he doesn't seem to understand anything that we were telling him to. So we resorted to turning on the monitor and letting him watch his favorite Cocomelon videos.

It was effective though for a few minutes. His favorites were the Wheels on the Bus, Clean Up Song, The Band, and some others.

We continued with the assembly, these were plastic screws, they are in pairs so we have to insert the male part from the outside into the holes then the female part has to be inserted into the tip of the steel tube then clock them up as the tube is inserted into the rack sides.

This was easy plus, the box came with some plastic tools too! They were actually cute and my husband used it to secure the locks.

So everything was secured, each side of the steel tube. That was the most tedious part but it was really easy, I guess it only took us five to ten minutes to finish screwing everything.

The plastic was of the same quality as Matti's playpen. We were both questioning the sturdiness of the steel tubes though but I told my husband that since this would only contain Matti's toys and books, then it should be enough to keep them so we don't have to worry that much. Also, this won't hurt Matti even if he'd be running into it as it is made of plastic.

Upon looking at the remaining parts on the floor, we found these two plastic circles and couldn't figure out where this is placed.

The husband commented that this might be a freebie. The guide showed us no option for this one and it is also not included in the parts. The circle has the alphabet letters embossed on it in a circular pattern.

Then it was time to insert the stopper in the rack's

bottom to ensure that this won't move or slid.

We were almost done with the toy rack! We tested it by shaking the rack and it seems fine. There were a few scratches though on its sides but that's okay. It comes with a sticker too to decorate the sides but we decided not to stick it as we think that Matti will peel them off when he'll notice those stickers.

And now it was time for the last part - putting all the plastic containers!

Matti tried helping his papa place the containers. We followed how the photo from the store looked. The smaller ones were on top, three of them then the bigger gray container were placed at the middle and the bottom layers.

And that's it! Toy Rack Storage has been assembled successfully! No missing parts and we were quite satisfied with how it looked! Plus, it has the same height as Matti!

After assembling the rack storage, I placed Matti's toys in them. These toys we accumulated in just a year, they are just a few as we don't always buy toys and if I buy one, they are the cheapest in the market. Also, most of them were from Shopee.

I remember when I bought them and my husband would comment that Matti doesn't need much. I understand his side but I know that in time, Matti will learn to appreciate them. Before, he would just ignore the books and today, he'd always look at it.
