Needlework Your Valentines Contest My Entry

Hello everybody,

The crocheted sandals or footwear projects that I made recently are my Valentines gifts to my Classmate/ HS Batchmate '73/BFF-best friends forever/our neighbor before and to my four daughters.

I especially made this for her as my gratitude for helping me in my hardship years before. In the years 1987-1990 hubby was jobless, I was the only one making ends meet as a Photographer. My BFF, Elena gave me maternity dresses when I was pregnant with my 5th, 6th and 7th kids. Then, when ever my daughters and son's birthday came she baked the birthday Cakes for them. I lend money to her, too and many more help I can't count anymore. I am truly grateful to her, as in. That's why when I made the sample sandals for me, I already think I should make one for her.

When I bought the sole at the store, they sell it by the dozens not by piece. So, I have many sole in different sizes. I also thought that my four dughters feet looks good on this crocheted sandal, thus, I made for them, also.

Here is my prototype I crocheted at first for my self

Then, I just copied it. I used Bulky Chenille yarns for the main materials.

Then, tiny cord for the center.

Place the button...

Then, make it as a ribbon ...

After making them I went to our neighbors foot factory just about 250m from our house, let them finish the project.

In three days I have a beautiful pairs of sandals!

Additional gifts...I also made little hats for prematured babaies, I just include here what I made. I will give about 20 little hats, the last submission will be on. Feb 24, enough time to complete the 20 pcs, 7 pcs more to go.
