Accepting Accountability | ZapFic50 Friday #44 | (9/2/22) - Prompt: justice
In this Week 44 of the ZAPFic50 Friday, the prompt "justice" brings to mind incidents where individuals who are in the wrong won't accept responsibility for their actions. When others lose their lives due to actions caused by the wrongdoer, that person still doesn't want to accept his/her part in the tragedy.
**Below is my story:
Damian stared beyond the shoreline toward the bridge. His eyes shifted to the medallion, accepted in his grandfather's honor.
Tears welled up as Damian remembered his grandpa shielding him from the oncoming vehicle.
His subsequent bravery saved several, but not himself, from plunging overboard.
The fleeing criminal pleased NOT GUILTY!

@felt.buzz and the Freewriters Community bring you a new microfiction format. This ZapFic50 Friday challenge tests our ability to construct as near complete a story as we can using exactly 50 words. The challenge starts on Fridays. It's a great writing opportunity over the weekend using various prompts as your guide.
If you'd like to participate, check out this week's official ZapFic50 Friday post: It's #ZapFic50Friday! Week 44! Write me a story in precisely 50 words!:
I leave below my wordcounter screenshot showing the 50-word count for my #44 ZapFic50 Friday story:
RULES:
Post to the Freewriters Community.
Use #freewritehouse and #zapfic tags.
Please use a word/character counter (if you search for word counter on the internet or in your phone's app store you will get a big choice!) wordcounter.net and include a screenshot. This makes it easier for you and @feltbuzz!
Use the prompt provided as you see fit (use your imagination)
You have the weekend (until Sunday 23h59 GMT) to write a story in precisely 50 words (no more, no less than 50!) using the prompt given.
Try to tell a complete story if you can!
The story should be precisely 50 words long (use a word counter to check!).
Thanks,
@justclickindiva

Hello @bdcommunity I appreciate the manual curation by @rem-steem and the support of my short story. So happy you liked the presentation.
I've already delegated HP to your project.
Take care.
I don't seem to understand at times, why people who are in wrong don't accept responsibility for their actions.
Is it that, they don't know right and wrong and how it hurts.
Or they feel is the right thing to do for themselves.
If only people can avoid this little things, the world would be a better place.
Nice short story as always.
So true what you say. Unfortunately, there will always be people who won't take responsibility and shift it to others.
Take care.
We hope and pray for better change.
Blessings.
Wow! This is a nice piece. Keep it up!
