Love's Torture In Seven Ways | nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for February: Theme: "Love" - No. 4 (a collection)

Also, Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. This challenge was intended for the full month of February. Participants are required to:

• make art incorporating love themes;
• mint it on https://nftshowroom.com/;
• make a blog post about it in Alien Art Hive; and
• use #nftshowroom in your tags

Below is my fourth design for this theme. I also included here other versions of tortured love I retrieved that fit the theme.

In attempting this project, I wanted to include more than one version of the "love" theme that included how love is not always pleasant and predictable. The various versions attempt to show the ways in which love is given and received.

That she was no good for me, I came to realize. That viper. No, black widow in disguise was no good. An seepage of misery that leads to despair. Period.

I came to understand that.

But at the time, my head and my heart was messed up. Her touch. Her lips would send shivers throughout my soul, forcing me to surrender. I would have followed a scorpion if it had a shirt, high heels, and wore red lipstick.

She messed my head up. Tore it apart. I don't know which way is up. That I know. But the feelings won't diminish. They say that the experience was a valuable life lesson.

They also said time heals all wounds. That is absolutely not true.

Unlike me, her heart throbbed. It beat loudly enough for the both of us. I could feel her passion. I came to learn it was called "love". I didn't understand it, but if her sacrifice to save my kind is testimony, then I'll gladly accept this foreign feeling.

Everyone knew it wouldn't last. The intensity couldn't be sustained. "It's not normal," they whispered among themselves. And they were right. It was as if a dragon's breath showered them with the energy to move forward. All the ailments that cause love to falter flooded their senses.

The break came swiftly. But they couldn't let go. In the end, both lovers perished from love's torture.

Adelaide went to the place where she'd previously visited. A sharp stab in her chest reminded her of her daughter's parting words, "I'd rather die than be looked upon by you as a disappointment for my choices in life. No one's perfect, mother, not even you."

I loved you more than you'll ever know. But I couldn't see past my own faults, daughter. And for that I'm eternally sorry. I hope you forgive me in your next life."

Love's Torture #5: I"LL NEVER LEAVE YOU

"Your pain is my pain," Eugenie declared. "Come, lie here next to me. Press your head to my breast, and I'll comfort you as I should have."

"I tried to tell you in so many ways that I was different. But you wanted a son. A son you could be proud of. I failed you," Alberto declared before his eyes shut and his body grew limp.

Eugenie's blindness dug a wedge between them. One that never closed. Too late.

Love's Torture #6: MATERIALISM AT ITS FINEST

Natalia wasn't always that way. Conceited. Vulgar. Materialistic. Self-Centered. GoldDigger. And a variety of other adjectives attached themselves to her personality the moment she accepted the offer to step into the limelight.

"We love you. Please don't do this to our circle," one friend pleaded. but to no avail.

"She's changed, and there's nothing we can do," another friend lamented. Others agreed.

Ultimately, Natalia dropped them for wealthier friends who could further her career and new lifestyle.

To each his own. You do you, and let me do me, was her new motto.

Love's Torture #7: CAN NEVER BE REPLACED

He took you from me. But I blame them. Society, I mean; for not enacting laws against him who took to the road in wanton disregard for others' lives. What did he expect? Everyone else who was abiding by the law that day would accommodate him as he recklessly came upon our curb and claimed you as one of his victims?

I hope no one else has to suffer the pain of losing their loved one in this manner. However, I fear my hope is in vain.

I utilized Canva, my design program, to blend the different type images in designs with numerous elements. I began with a blank, white canvas. I then added layers of elements.
