My Sweet Indulgences | Bundt Cakes

It's been a while since I shared my food-related content. One of my favorite desserts is bundt cake. As a young mother, I'd bake my own cakes in numerous varieties. Older now, my kitchen time is limited. So, occasionally I enjoy sweet desserts from my favorite bakeries. I really shouldn't indulge in any sweets too often as I have Type 2 Diabetes. However, occasionally I peruse the bakery isles of my grocers. Several years ago, I discovered several boutique bakeries. One of them is Nothing Bundt Cakes.

This bakery is famous for its wedding cakes made in the form of a bundt-style pan cake. How ingenious. Not the traditional wedding cake.

I stopped by the shop to pick up some cakes as part of birthday celebration gifts. I wanted my younger family members to experience this sweet treat and have some to take back with them.

Once inside the bakery shop, I couldn't contain myself. I wanted to purchase a bundt cake in one of each flavors. But before I got caught up in the sugar rush, I asked the friendly manager if I could take a photo of her beautiful cake display. She agreed.

Below is the display case showcasing the bundt cakes they produce. Apologies for the double exposure. However, the front glass door was immediately behind me that I didn't notice. You can see the trees in the background.

How cute are these miniature bundt cakes called Bundtlets. The three I selected to accompany me home were: Chocolate Chip, Carrot, and Marble. Excellent choices.

It was all I could do to contain myself from breaking open the container and eating one right there in the car before I returned home. But I remembered they were for a good cause. Oh, the birthday party recipients. How shameful of me to forget.

I managed to make it home with three mini bundt cakes intact. But these bundt cakes are the small versions of the original large cake we all know and love and as displayed in their bakery case above.

From their website: NothingBundCakes, I discovered their cakes are made with real eggs, butter and cream cheese.

The thick frosting is touted to be their famous recipe made with cream cheese and real butter. The frosting also comes in a light version, which only has a drizzle.

There is also a food allergen notice posted. It states:

"our cakes contain wheat, ilk, eggs, pecans (in our Pecan Praline cakes only) and soy. Cakes may contain traces of tree nuts and peanuts."

However, once home, I needed to remove them from the containers to show up close their beautiful designs.

However, the inside is makes this sweet dessert so delicious. So let's proceed to cut them in half to se what's in the middle. Sorry nieces and nephews.

Chocolate Chip

Can you see the buttercream icing all the way down the center of the cake? So you don't have just the icing on top and once you eat it like I do, you have nothing left but cake. Forget I said that.

We all know that the bundt cake has the round fluted baking pan so the center is cut out. Now I can see they just fill the center with the buttercream. Then they camouflage it on top with the design. If this is the first time you'd eaten one, you'll get a surprise.

But enough of the icing. Let's talk ingredients that make this miniature bundt cake so sweet and delicious. It a classic vanilla with chocolate chips throughout.

Carrot Cake

I can still smell the aroma of the holidays. A classic carrot cake with carrots, pineapple pieces, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Marble.

I didn't want to cut the Marble cake since it was promised to a family member who would have been a bit perturbed with me. So, the ingredients are yellow cake swirled with chocolate.
