Of Myth And Magic | LET'S MAKE A COLLAGE: ROUND #134

LMACRound134-Ver2-Olynpus.png

Back for another round of Let's Make a Collage ("LMAC"). This week's contest image we have to work with is a bit intriguing. I love Greek mythology. The image reminded me of the daughters of the god, Zeus, and his wife, Hera. My first theme surrounds this image. I also love magical settings. In my second theme, I wanted to depict a forest and utilized the image as a monument.

To create the settings for both themes, I started with the photograph provided by @shaka in his contest post: Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 134 - ✨229 HIVE in the Prize Pool!

COLLAGE #1: Olympus Greek Elite

In my first theme, I wanted to capture a Greek mythology scene. In Greek Mythology, Zeus, who came into power by eliminating his father (Cronus) and other Titans, was the leader of the Olympians. The Olympians were larger than life. They supposedly dwelt high above the Earth surface on Olympus. With their unlimited powers, they ruled over their human subjects who inhabited the Earth below and bade they worship them. Meetings among the inhabitants of Olympus often met to decided matters of order in the their world and for humans.

My scene involves one such meeting in which Zeus is directing this wife and daughters to do his biding. To refuse or go against his wishes often meant exile or death according to how serious the issue. Enemies were plotted against and loyalties demanded and rewarded.

I located a photo of the Zeus. This was an appropriate image as I wanted to utilize the contest photo with images of the goddesses carved in the temples. I attempted to decorate the photo to resemble a meeting. I uploaded both the contest photo and my digital image into Canva and took advantage of my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.

COLLAGE #2: Haunted Forest

My second theme portrays an ancient, abandoned structure hidden in the heavily wooded forest. Old meets new as the forest is not haunted with beings that oversee the structure. Inhabitants of the surrounding area no longer visit the structure or roam the forest.

I located a haunting image of a woman embedded in stone. I felt it would make an equally convincing image of a female embedded in the tapestry of the forest. Reminds me a forest creature placed under a spell and unable to leave. With the assistance of the amazing filters at Deep Dream Generator, I was able to transform the stone image into the forest setting. Now, with this scenario, I located an equally haunting creature in the LIL to assist in blending the images in Canva.

Both outstanding. I couldn't choose between them. They are very different. One is classical, and the other is mystical. Both beautiful.

Thank you for using my stone sculpture. It looks great there. Good luck with these beautiful collages, @justclickindiva

Hello. Apologies for my late reply. Thanks so much for your visit and support of my collage theme. I think I like the classical one the best. As soon as I saw the goddesses, I knew I wanted to snatch them away and return them to their rightful place.

Take care.

I like your concept of the Greek mythology and the fantasy portrayed in the second one. Thanks for including my image of the moon. 😊
