On A Sunny Day I Can See My Dragon

I woke to a sharp, gut-wrenching pain. A dagger had pierced the right side of my body. Traveling down the length of my torso, its sharp edges tore into my flesh at designated intervals along its route. I could do nothing but close my eyes and will my pulse not break out of its stall and race toward salvation. Gasping for breath, I clenched the support frame. In the throes of pain, I tossed my head back and forth. Suddenly, an ethereal glow in the distance caught my eye. It was the morning light. An array of colors resembling a rainbow danced on my windowsill. A smiled set in.

But delight was not to last. Moments later, a particularly sadistic twinge bolted up from the other side. Two daggers this round. And its purpose was to exacerbate the illness and inflict a particularly cruel rendition of the first. I inhaled short bursts of breaths. Tears came to the rescue as if to offer solace. All was required of me was to acquiesce. They would spill over.

Succumbing was not an option.

This sweet place of rest holding me hostage was not my salvation. Can I make it to the ladies' room?, I wondered. Sweat beaded up, then trickled down my face. The thought of placing pressure on both limbs frightened me.

I breathed short, calculated rasps as not to disturb the adjoining lumbar region. The area had its own cross to bear.

An accident was bound to happen if I didn't take immediate, decisive action.

Temporary courage. That's what I needed. Tossing the pain aside, I eased one leg over the side. Touching the floor would be tricky. Falling was always at the forefront. A slight numbness rose up from the other leg, but it followed orders and slowly joined its twin.

The sun was now in full view from my sill. I'll try to go out today and enjoy. But first I must overcome this hurdle.

Taking two steps forward, I groaned as the pain racked both sides. I didn't want to disturb anyone. I can do this, I reasoned.

But I couldn't do this. I needed assistance.

I yelled loudly. From the other room, I could hear footsteps quicken. He must be careful too, I thought.

"Are you hurt? Do you need me to call for help or make an appointment?"

Excruciating yes, but not to that point. Yet. I asked only for assistance in getting to the ladies' room and then remain with me.

The expression on his face worried me. It must look worse than I feel, I surmised. Quickly reassuring him it would pass soon, I waived off the offer for medical assistance. He's caring and always concerned.

"It just Old Arthur came to visit this morning. He had an awful night, so he had to take it out on someone!"

I forced a smile. More so to calm his fears. I sat on the facilities for the next half hour.

The morning rays fresh in my mind. My thoughts turned to the wonder of a rainbow after the storm.

I wondered who would visit me upon rising tomorrow.

My current project I completed utilizing a stable diffusion program. Stable diffusion art renders images by inputting text, known as prompts. The resulting art reminded me of two forces at the same time affecting the senses. Having medical issues to deal with can sometimes affect your mood and daily life. I wanted to show how each affect the other.

Below are my steps:

Text input:

"Secret flower garden with powerful dragon in the background hyperdetailed charcoal drawing heavenly sunshine beams divine bright soft focus holy in the clouds"

Including additional modifiers helped to define the image in terms of how the final art work would look. I feel it turned out nicely with only one process.
