Praying For Relief | LET'S MAKE A COLLAGE: ROUND #90

LMAC-Round90.png

Hello everyone and welcome back to Let's Make a Collage ("LMAC"). The start of the new season at LMAC is here with Round 90 kickoff: Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 90 - ✨145 HIVE in the Prize Pool!.

If you haven't started your collage for this Round 90 and are searching for images, why not give the LIL a try. Some awesome images were contributed to make the LIL a success so far.

Reminder, the LMAC Image Library (LIL) is now live. LMAC member @quantumg worked diligently on a database for the LIL and then provided LMAC members Indices. He's promised more enhancements to follow.

Also, as an added bonus, if you give support to your fellow LMAC members by utilizing one of their images in the library and adding them as a 2% beneficiary to your post, you'll get support in return. After all, if an LMAC member assists you in creating your awesome collage, then it's an easy way to say "thank you". Isn't that what Hive is about...supporting each other?

So, I set off to locate an amazing image in the LIL to begin creating my collage. There was no doubt I'd find an appropriate background to support my theme about climate change.

PRAYING FOR RELIEF

Climate change all over the world has affected our planet. I think about the U.S. and the numerous natural disasters and man-made afflictions that have occurred simultaneously just this year.

At the same time that severe wildfires were raging in the western part of our country, hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe floods were occurring in and around the Gulf Coast and Atlanta Ocean eastern seashores. I sit and look at these amazing events happening from one end of the country to the other.

I realize that some of the wildfires in the western part of the country were started either accidentally or intentionally. Finally, extremely dry conditions accelerated even the smallest of fires. These droughts have severely hampered efforts to sustain the massive fires.

According to the State of California, Dept. of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE's) site, it is already known that wildfires are part of the landscape in California. What is happening though is that the fires are starting earlier and continuing later. The reason for this has been attributed to warmer spring weather and higher temperatures in the summer. 1

Combined fires so far as of September 11th have totaled 7,064 incidents that have consumed over 1,968,326 acres. This acreage included valuable resources and habitats that are now lost. As if that weren't enough, homes and structured destroyed totaled 3,050. 1

About two weeks ago, we on the Gulf Coast saw three hurricanes develop back-to-back with days of each other. This is increased weather occurrences brought about by the change in climate.

Then, we saw droughts in states in the central part of country. There are ways to combat climate change if we act now.

To assist me in creating my climate change theme for Round 90 collage, I utilized the following images:

The background for my theme is a mixed-use landscape of rolling hills and mountains. The dark clouds as though inclement weather is approaching looks like a figure with two eyes guiding the cloud along to its destination. Thank you very much, @lunaturqueza, for assisting me in my collage with your LIL contribution. I hope I can do your landscape justice with my concept of protecting our environment.

To create the collage, I uploaded into Canva the contest photo and @lunaturqueza's image to serve as my background. I utilized my Annual Pro Membership Subscription to achieve the various elements I need, such as background removal, resizing, and photo filtering. I utilized the photo filtering to add a burnt look to the house.

Yes, we must pray at the climate change that is happening will be alleviated. How much more of our previous land, air, and water will be destroyed before those in charge realize this problem is serious?

Sí, debemos rezar para que el cambio climático que se está produciendo se alivie. ¿Cuánto más de nuestra tierra, aire y agua anteriores serán destruidos antes de que los responsables se den cuenta de que este problema es serio?

Hello @brittandjosie. Thanks so much for your visit. I appreciate your support. Yes, the circumstances of climate control makes on feel as though we're living an alternate reality. Just sitting and watching all this makes me think of end times.

So happy to hear you liked the collage. Unnatural scenes of fires. It shouldn't be happening. And absolutely, @lunaturqueza's beautiful landscape shows how previous resources can be destroyed in an instant.

I feel the LIL is a success so far. With new enhancements planned, we'll have a searchable index. I wanted to locate an urn or fountain, so I knew the free transparent image site, PurePNG, had one I'd seen before.

Once I start searching the LIL consistently, I'll know what's there when I need an image, just like I know what Pixabay and the other sites contain.

Take care, and have a good rest of your week.

Hello @lunaturqueza. Yes, we can blame the humans that have caused climate change. That's why I said in the end, let's do something about this now to turn it around.

Hola @lunaturqueza. Sí, podemos culpar a los humanos que han causado el cambio climático. Por eso dije al final, hagamos algo al respecto ahora para darle la vuelta.
