Scoring Run | Previous ZAPFic50 Friday #30 (5/20/22) | Prompt: bat
I participated in the previous Zapfic50 Friday for the prompt "bat". However, I wanted to share this story with the Community as I recently discovered a photo that I thought would be perfect to convey the intent of the prompt. This is only an additional Zapfic50. My 50-word ZAPFIC story is in response to the previous challenge: It's not just Friday... it's ZapFic50Friday! Write me a story in precisely 50 words!. The theme for the prompt involves friends on a night out.
@felt.buzz and the Freewriters Community bring you a this ZapFic50 Friday challenge that tests our ability to construct as near complete a story as we can using only 50 words. The challenge starts on Fridays. It's a great writing opportunity over the weekend using various prompts as your guide.
I leave below my wordcounter screenshot showing the 50-word count for my #? ZapFic50 Friday story:
Below is my story.
The happy hour noise rose to a fervor as the wide screen displayed the winning score for their home team.
Gerald nudged Anton, then both turned envying Reynard with two lovely acquaintances.
"He's batting a thousand tonight!" Gerald laughed.
Grimacing, Anton murmured, "don't laugh, our score is stuck on zero."
