This microfiction story is for the prompt "gambling". It reminds me of individuals who gamble with their money when it's needed for their household. They believe they can win. A ZAPFIC50 story is told in exactly 50 words. The challenge was created by @felt.buzz. I decided to continue to prepare content for it whenever the opportunity arises.

Here is my story.

Nicholas spotted the crowd at the pickup station. He parked, pocketed his keys, then followed others boarding the complimentary bus.

Weary, the plush seat was a relief. He fell asleep rehashing his wife's scolding over their dire financial situation.

He'd show her.

"Next stop: Casino. Good luck," the driver said.
