Conflict is inevitable. Whether you experience it as an external stressor or an internal stressor, at some point it has to be addressed and dealt with. Conflict can be personal (only involving yourself) or interpersonal (involving yourself and one or more individuals). I wanted to address interpersonal conflict since it's an inevitable occurrence between two or more people.

The more people an individual interacts with, the more likely there will be conflict at some point in their relationship. However, conflict doesn't always have to be negative or severe. These issues I believe can be resolved amicably or reasonably quicker.

However, it's the serious and severe conflict involving yourself and others that can cause disruption in your peace or personal space.

Most often, individuals invite conflict into their lives. Instead of operating from a point of view that involves truth, integrity, and fair dealing with others, most people get caught up in entanglements.

Gossip or spreading hearsay or information known to be false can lead to personal conflict in one's life. In my lifetime, I've encountered individuals who seem to thrive on ingratiating themselves in others' persona affairs. They just need to know.

Instead of taking care of their own personal business, they tend to enjoy talking about or spreading rumors about others. This can lead to serious complications in one's life. In the extreme, family or friend relationship may be permanently damaged.

Also, granting personal favors and perceived biases can often lead to an individual being labeled as one who takes sides or operates with favoritism.

There is another type of interpersonal conflict that I feel is overlooked but occurs frequently in any type of relationship. That conflict involves egos. When individuals are strong minded or strong willed, neither desires to retreat or admit wrongdoing. Still others believe their beliefs are more important or won't listen to an opposing point of view.

To avoid conflict in your personal life, professionals dealing with these issues suggest the following actions to live by:

  • First, identify the conflict. Misunderstandings, differing opinions or points of view, and verbal or non-verbal miscommunication. This can be the most difficult if one person doesn't know what caused the conflict but wants to attempt to resolve it.

  • Second, plan a resolution. This may involve reaching out to another person and begin a dialogue. In the alternative, it may be that you have identified the problem to be of your own volition. Then deciding on a course of action can commence immediately.

  • Third, take action After the plan is determined and contest made, you may want to either come to a resolution by withdrawing, compromising, or mutual resolution.

The most important aspect of interpersonal conflict is resolution. Without it, you or the other person will eventually address the matter again either immediately or at a later date. This is called serial arguing. It does no one any good and only ends up with either person torn with their inner peace shattered. 1

In my current fractal art project, I wanted to address the issue of interpersonal conflicts by creating an art representative of the stressors. My pure fractal art pieces are a lovely addition to the generative art I created.

One of the first generative art programs I discovered was WOMBO Dream. I was fascinated by the depth of the images produced with text prompts. These prompts assist you in describing the art you want to create. The more descriptive the prompt, the more unique the art piece that will be rendered.

####### Below are my steps:

Text input:
"Stunning female portrait in the style of Michalangelo detailed painting".

Result:

After completion of the generative art piece, I uploaded it and my pure fractals below into Canva to blend the items and create my theme.

Here is the final version:
