USEFUL APPS TO ASSIST IN MY HIVE JOURNEY (Bilingual): REDFISH RALLY - Period 2-Challenge #4: APPS

REDFISH RALLY SUMMER EDITION: PERIOD 2 : Challenge No. 4 : APPS (July 13 - 26, 2020)
Frequently I join in with the Redfish Rally participants in completing the Assignments. Sharing your experience with different application to assist you in your own personal journey on Hive can also help other authors who may be in need of a particular product.
I found several useful apps I'd like to share with the members of the Terminal's Redfish Rally and others on Hive.

BITMOJI
The first app that I was introduced to by the Terminal Discord was Bitmoji. It was suggested that I use this app to aid in my online presence. I was hesitant at first. I don't normally use apps that are only available through your mobile phone.
Then I discovered the app was available as a Chrome Extension. I immediately looked into it. But I discovered I was still required to join via my mobile phone.
My initial hesitancy in adding this app to my phone was the privacy information they required. I decided to proceed and obtain my account.
This app is a fun way to present your online presence. You're asked to take a selfie. The program then converts it to a type of emoji in which you can customize your look and add outfits to your closet.
I utilize it daily, and it's a fun app to present different animated characters of yourself in funny or unique situations. Sometimes you don't need words. A picture tells it all.

La primera aplicación que me presentó la Discordia Terminal fue Bitmoji. Se me sugirió que usara esta aplicación para ayudar en mi presencia online. Al principio dudé. Normalmente no utilizo aplicaciones que sólo están disponibles a través de tu teléfono móvil.
Luego descubrí que la aplicación estaba disponible como una Extensión de Cromo. Inmediatamente lo investigué. Pero descubrí que todavía tenía que unirme a través de mi teléfono móvil. Mi duda inicial al agregar esta aplicación a mi teléfono era la información de privacidad que requerían. Decidí proceder y obtener mi cuenta.
Esta aplicación es una forma divertida de presentar su presencia en línea. Se te pide que te hagas una auto-adquisición. El programa lo convierte en un tipo de emoji en el que puedes personalizar tu aspecto y añadir ropa a tu armario.
Lo utilizo diariamente, y es una aplicación divertida para presentar diferentes personajes animados de ti mismo en situaciones divertidas o únicas. A veces no necesitas palabras. Una imagen lo dice todo.

DEEPL.com
DeepL.com is an online translator that was launched in August, 2017. I discovered this website while searching for a reliable program to translate my English to Spanish. The reason I needed a program such as this is due to the fact I wanted to interact with the Spanish-speaking Communities and individuals on Hive.
I noticed that numerous authors wrote their posts in Spanish. In order to interact and engage with them, I needed to understand the nature of their content.
It has been extremely rewarding for me to be able to engage with other nationalities through the use of an online translator program such as DeepL.com.
My first attempt at using an online translator was through a recommendation from a friend to try Google translator. I found this service to be not as reliable in it's translation efforts. Another friend recommended DeepL Translator. I'm pleased with the results I receive from this translator. Although 100% accurate, it is decidedly better than google.
I recommend DeepL.

WORD COUNTER TOOL
Word Counter Tool is a word counter that provides extensive statistics about your document's word count, character count, number of characters without spaces, syllables, sentences, unique words, and numerous other statistics about your document.
Just copy and paste your words inside the box on the right hand side of the screen. Your statistics will appear on the right hand side.
It's extremely helpful to me when entering challenges and contests on Hive with must contain a specific number of characters or words.
I only utilize the site to count simple characters before publishing my contest entry for @felt.buzz's ZAPFIC weekly contest. Creating a complete idea or story is hard enough without submitting your entry, then discovering it's disqualified for containing more than 240 characters.
Word Counter Tool works with numerous browsers, including Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer.
Finally, Word Counter Tool allows you to upload type types of documents, such as Text, Microsoft WORD, and Excel. But the most exciting aspect of Word Counter Tool is that it comes with an auto-save feature. Numerous times I've left my words in the box and even shut down my computer. When I return, my words are there.
I recommend this important tool for use with your publishing on Hive.

CANVA
Canva is an awesome design website that is free to use. Not only does it allow you to upload your own photographs to edit, but the program offers free backgrounds, photos, and links to the free sites, Pixabay and Pexels so that upload a free photo directly into its editor.
I have utilized Canva for over two years now. In fact, I created my thumbnail "Useful Apps" in Canva.
Once you create a free account, you can start designing. Canva offers numerous free templates for all types of advertising uses.
You can design flyers, presentations, infographics, facebook posters, cards, instagram posts, facebook covers, photo collages, resumes, invitations, brochures, and blogger banners.
Just open up Canva; choose a free template; then select all available elements. It's just that easy. When you're finished, you can download your designs. I saved the best for last because Canva saves all your projects so you can retrieve them later to revise or duplicate them. I have received several compliments on my Canva design projects.
Just remember to source your design as having been created in Canva by you.

DEEP DREAM GENERATOR
Artificial Intellgigence art is emerging as a the latest in photo design and manipulation. That is exactly what Deep Dream Generator is. It's a computer program that's used to create visual artwork. This program is a Google product.
With Deeep Dream Generator, you can manipulate your own photographs to add different filters and effects. The filters include Deep Style, Thin Style, and Deep dream.
This program allows you to download your photos once you are completed your project. The program allows you to save your projects. New filters and effects are added frequently added.
The effects are amazing. Just create a free account. Click GENERATE. Upload your photograph. Choose your effect style. You can apply different effects. I created this filter and effect utilizing the Deep Style.

I hadn’t heard of this translation app either. Google translate is certainly not the best for many languages. I’m curious to check out some google alternatives.

I just got a comment that reminds me it's not 100% yet. Someone asked me why have I "outgrown" her post; when in fact, I stated that "I have upvoted your post." I wanted to laugh. It just reminds me that nothing is foolproof.

Thank you again ... yes, nothing is perfect. I took Spanish in elementary school, so I can still read it enough to know that translation services definitely have their issues. When in Google Translate I tend to use more common words, and I also have a bit of a sense of the idiomatic nature of Spanish ... but since I am considering translating SEVERAL novels worth of work I have done on Steem and Hive, I DEFINITELY will be using DeepL -- and still knowing I have to read back with my rudimentary Spanish to make sure!

It takes more time, but it is worth it to engage with as many authors on Hive as I can. I love to write fiction, and hope as many as possible get to read my stories and give feedback.
Yes, there are numerous photography contests on Hive that require you to use filters and effects. Some even ask you to create gifs. Now that is my downfall. But I try. And I love to enter contests, both writing and photography.
