I Vowed Never To Visit Her Again

When I saw this topic, I thought about something and I couldn’t hold myself from laughing. I laughed so hard that my roommate had to come to check up on me. Sometimes when not in a pretty good mood, I sit down and think about all the funny and risky things that I’ve done in my life.

Sometimes when we need a pill of laughter, all we have to do is to think about a funny thing that we’ve once done. Maybe. Just maybe that’ll do the trick.

Today's edition is to talk about a true life story that has to do with us; funny, sad, or plain ridiculous. I decided to go for a funny story. It wouldn’t be cool to talk about a sad one (I didn’t want to remember sad experiences).

My high school days were the best. Yeah, primary and university days are also nice, but they are nothing compared to high school experiences. Those days we weren’t worried about life problems. We had no problem with paying house bills, electricity and all. Our parents/guardians settled our school fees. We had no worries, all we cared about was playing, having fun, and getting good grades. Yeah, most of us loved good grades, but that didn’t stop us from having fun.

My early days in high school (My first three years) were not really cool. I was the type of person that didn’t like playing too much. Trust me, I played a lot. But not like other guys. I didn’t disturb the teachers. I was just simple, nice, and not too playful.

But everything changed when I graduated from SSS1 (Senior Secondary School 1). It was as if they replaced my character with a completely different one. The “me” that used to be gentle and nice, changed to “troublemaker”. My teachers thought I was still “the gentle student” plus my innocent face helped me a lot. Teachers will punish my friends and leave me because they thought I was “gentle”. I don’t know how I managed to keep my secrets until I graduated.

My grades were still pretty nice. I was one of the class toppers. My teachers and parents liked me for that. If there’s something you should know about me it is the fact that I’m very playful. And I play with everyone irrespective of the age difference. I played with girls so much that they nicknamed me “Baba for the girls”.

Khaleed was one of my close friends in high school. He was a science student while I was an art student. He was also very good at science subjects and he loved calculation. We became close when he and one other girl started taking math lessons with him. To avoid distractions (from my friends) I always sit with him during math class.

Right from secondary school, I knew how to talk to girls. He surprises me when I hear guys say they don’t know how to approach a lady. I was really good at approaching girls and the pickup lines flowed freely.

Khaleed had been crushing on a girl for months. They attended the same elementary school, and he has never talked to her since they graduated from elementary school. Her school was not too far from mine. It was just a 7-10 minute walk. I’m not gonna lie, the girl was really pretty. Dark-skinned and all. She had everything.

Khaleed told me about his crush and how he had always wanted to talk to her. They chat on Facebook, but they’ve never talked physically since they graduated from high school. He asked me if I could follow him to his crush’s school. At first, I laughed at him, but after a while, I agreed to follow him. After all, we should always help a brother in times like that.

I followed him to her school and when we got to the school gate, he wanted to run back. I grabbed him. Not on my watch. I dragged him inside. It was after school and just a few students were in her class. We entered her class, I pushed Khaleed to her and they started talking.

While I was waiting for Khaleed at the entrance, I saw a pretty girl come out of the class. Oh boy! She was so pretty that I couldn’t stop staring at her. As a sharp guy, I approached her and greeted her gently. I asked some pretty amazing questions and we started talking. Just when I was about to ask for her digits, Khaleed came out and asked if we could go home.

Thank God Khaleed came out, it would’ve been a dumb idea to ask for her digits because I wasn’t even with a cellphone. Instead, I quickly asked for her Facebook username. And she told me with a smile on her face. I felt a spark😂.

We left the school and went to our various homes. When I got home, I couldn’t wait to add her on Facebook. I didn’t even take off my uniform. I took my phone, and searched for her username on Facebook! Tada! Found it! I went through her profile and liked all her pictures.

I sent her a friend request and later that evening she accepted. We chatted all night, till I fell asleep. We continued with this for a few weeks. I started visiting her every day after school. After about 2 months we became very close. She invited me to her house which was not too far from my best friend’s place. It was just a friendly visit.

I asked if her parents wouldn’t be at home and if they were strict. She said her parents are always in their business place every Saturday and that her dad was an ex-police officer.

That faithful Saturday, I dressed up. I wore my favorite shirt and went to her house. Immediately I entered my eyes and sighted her dad’s picture hanging on the wall. His face wasn’t smiling at all. He looked like he could beat anyone up. I wasn’t comfortable but I managed to enter. I sat down and we started talking.

After about 7 minutes, I heard a loud knock on the gate. Bang! Bang! Bang! It was as if the person wanted to break the gate. It was her dad. He screamed her name! His voice was very thick! Immediately, she jumped up and started panting!

In my mind I was like “I’m in hot soup, why did I even come”. The first thing that came to my mind was to hide in the ceiling, or under the chair.

She told me not to worry and that he wouldn’t do anything. She ran outside to open the gate for her dad. I stayed inside breathing heavily. My eyes went straight to her dad’s picture hanging on the wall. His face didn’t look like someone who wouldn’t “do anything”. I didn’t know what to do until my intuition kicked in. I hid behind one of the chairs.

Her dad came in and parked his car in the parking lot. I could see what was happening through the window.

Luckily, after parking his car, he went to the backyard. Immediately, I wore my shoes, went outside, opened the gate, and took on my heels.

I didn’t even look back. I ran so fast that I started feeling like The Flash. I’m sure Usain Boat wouldn’t match my speed. I ran to my best friend’s house.

I told him what happened, and he laughed so hard and said he wished her dad caught me.

I vowed never to visit her in my life again.
