My Bitter Experience With Nigerian Landlords (part 2)

Hello everyone in the hive blockchain. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Welcome to my blog.

A few days ago, I shared an article in this community where I talked about Nigerian landlords and their shenanigans. I talked about how my landlord deceived me (and some other peeps).

He promised to change his deceptive ways and do the necessary things. Well, in this post, I'll share an update about my landlord and his “messed up ways”.

It is very funny how people make promises and change their words the next minute. I mean, why make the promise in the first place? So annoying. Why can't people just stick to their promises? Is it so hard to do that?

I'm sure you all agree with me that students should live in a comfortable setting. A place with good electricity, water, good doors, and good bathrooms. Too much to ask for? Nah! I don't think so! Those are pretty basic things!

You should enjoy what you paid for. I paid a lot of money. Yes, a lot of money (compared to what I should get) for this room. And why shouldn't I get good results? Some students paid a lesser price and are enjoying themselves in other hostels.

I know violence is not good. Yeah, violence should not be used to solve problems. But don't you think sometimes we have to use a tiny portion of violence to pass our “point” to people? The world is filled with stubborn, crazy-minded people (especially landlords), and sometimes you have to “show” them you're not a small thing.

In my last article on this community, I talked about how my landlord deprived us of the basic things we paid for. And how we added a little bit of “violence” to get what we deserved. We didn't get “everything” though. The landlord promised to paint “the interior and exterior” of the building, but he is yet to do that even as I write this article.

Okay. After we added a little violence. Well, we didn't do too much. We didn't destroy anything. The landlord got our message and repaired some things. He bought a new generator and repaired some things.

He PROMISED to repair ALL the bathrooms and paint the rooms. He sounded so innocent when he was apologizing for everything. He sounded as if he wouldn't do any wrong again.

Well, guess what? HE LIED! He's a big-time liar. Today makes it 4 days since he promised to repair everything (paint the rooms, repair the doors, the bathrooms, and some other things). He still hasn't done anything! To worsen the case, he blocked our numbers, so we wouldn't “disturb” him.

The agent/caretaker of the hostel also blocked our numbers. The system is just so MESSED up. People are wicked. Really wicked.

We paid a huge amount of money for the hostel, and we are here suffering, not enjoying what we paid for.

The landlord repaired some doors, but he left about 6 doors (including ours) unattended. Very annoying, huh? So now, I have to kick, punch and headbutt my door before it opens.

My bathroom pipe is very bad. I have to mop every time I take a bath. My situation is still a little better. I pity the guy next to my room. His door is so bad that a single punch can break it. His bathroom and toilet are in bad condition. He can't even use them. He bathes in another room.

3 days. Just three days is what we are giving the landlord. If he doesn't fix things within three days, we'll have to add a little portion of violence (just like we did the last time).

That sucks man just be careful you don’t end up getting violence back in one form or another, it could turn into something more brutal.

I do get the frustration though and people do tend to ignore others once the small patch has been applied, until something worse happens. It’s an unfortunate part of human nature sadly!
