My Painful Rejection Experience

Hello everyone in the wonderful hive block chain. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are.

The hive learners’ community has presented us with another amazing topic and I'm so glad to be participating in it.

One of the beautiful things about human beings is that they all want to win. They want the best for themselves. They want to get what they need exactly when they need it. They want to get selected. But one thing about life is that you can't always get what you want. It's a bitter truth that not everyone understands.

Rejection is a part of human life, and at one point in our lives, we'll have to deal with it. It now depends on you to learn how to get rid of it or allow it to get the better side of you.

Yes, we all love smooth things, green lights, success, and all. But one thing we should know is that rejections are bound to happen, and the earlier you understand this, the better it is for you and those around you.

There are different fields where one can get rejected; in a relationship, in business, competitions, examinations and so on.

Have I ever been rejected?

Source

Oh, yes. I've been rejected so many times. I've studied myself and I discovered I'm not the type of person that takes rejection slightly. Yes, I know nobody wants to get rejected, but I take it too seriously when it happens to me. I'm working on myself, and In a matter of time, I know I'll master everything.

When it comes to rejection, what most people talk about is stuff about relationships; how they got rejected by their partners, or how their partners did something painful. I actually do not have anything to say when it comes to rejection in a relationship because I have never been rejected by a girl. Hehe. I think I should add this to my CV.

I almost got rejected by a very beautiful girl in high school, but somehow I escaped it. We attended the same elementary school. She was my childhood crush. We were not that close in Elementary school (We were in the same class but in different buildings) but I was her secret crush, but when we got to high school we became very close.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore, I had to tell someone. So I told my best friend about her. He said I shouldn’t be shy and tell her. But I wasn’t only shy, I also didn’t want any negative answer, so I asked my best friend to stylishly ask her. Well, turns out she was crushing on another guy. It was painful, but It’d have been more painful if I had told her myself.

The one time I got rejected

The educational system in my country is so messed up. You can’t get into the university until you put in something extra. And when I mean **Something extra** you have to grease someone’s palm before you can get in. A friend of mine score 302/400 (she also passed other school exams) and still wasn’t admitted into the school because some people had connections and paid money for admission slots.

The first time I wrote a JAMB (Jamb Admission Matriculation Board), an exam you write to get into the university. I had sleepless nights because I was reading. I read so much that I even fell sick. I was unable to walk to the exam hall. My brother carried me there. But I managed to write the exam and I got a beautiful result. I was really happy because even though I was sick, I still managed to pass.

I wrote the University’s exam (POST UTME) and my score was really nice (it was even higher than the course I applied for). I was certain that I’d be admitted into the school, but at the end of the day, they rejected me.

How was I able to cope

Although it was very painful, there’s wasn’t much to do about it than to wait for another year. I took the exams the next year and I was so happy I got in.

Thanks for reading.

Here’s what I taught myself to tale rejection normal.

“everybody can’t like me, and that’s okay. Even I don’t like everyone”.

Once you look at it this way, you’re okay if you get rejected. It’s just a matter of preference.

The places where corruption is high, we do expect such an injustice that happened to you in the Jamb exam. It is really painful to encounter such feelings but there is no way. if we want to survive we need to accept the harsh realities.

Hehe. You haven't been rejected by a girl. I wonder which job will be given to you if you write the info in your cv

Rejection makes us stronger. I know we sometimes feel we don't deserve it, nevertheless there is always something that even we can secretly admit we learnt from the rejections and disappointments we face. What matters though is how we rise from it. Turning it into something beautiful is the key.
Nice content.

Hahahaha.... Wahala be like Jamb oo 😅😅
You even read to the extent that you fell sick and was carried to the location 😂😂😂
Seriously, that rejection hurts a lot because you will be wondering and thinking of the amount of time you dedicated to study hard for this exam and became a sickness to you. Sure a painful rejection. Though, you were able to overcome, that's what matters most.

Nigerian universities will stain your white. It can be very annoying when you should get the admission on merit, based on your achievement but it still eludes you. But then, it got better for you.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
